what is your thoughts of toyota charging a monthly fee for using your key fob, I think its for remote start. about $8.00 a month. toyota is making a mistake. along with their v6 turbo in tundra. just google to check out what toyota is doing. I like my 2015 tundra but will not buy another.

    Too many, but not enough....
I don't think remote starting is that big of a deal. Certainly wouldn't pay an extra cent for that feature

Toyota by far has the worst remote start system. It's the only one I know of that makes you shut the car down and restart when you get in. Terrible.

Remote start is a non issue for me…. I pay for the service because there are other things it does for 80 bucks a year. I have never used the auto start feature but it is fairly easy to install via aftermarket. I really am missing the point to why it’s such a big issue and why many people are looking to jump ship over it. I honestly could care less about the “other” manufacturers giving it for free because I don’t want them doing anything like the “others”. No one is forced to purchase the subscription…. And auto is available 3rd party for the 2020/2021 push button start, which give it some time and it will be out for the 2022’s.

If a manufacture can charge to use a feature such as remote start, when do you think they will realize they can charge you to use other features as well? Want to turn on the AC, well did you pay the annual fee for that? Don't forget the fee for power window operation. These are extreme examples and I doubt it gets to that, but who knows.
