I got my 2021 w/o sidesteps…that sucked until grabbed some sidesteps which was a huge improvement but still felt off w/o the handle. Finally just said enough and ordered one…cannot wait to install it. :)

NOTE: life is too short to put up with little issues that are easily remedied ;)

Can't be that, they kept it on the passenger side.

I installed one on my 2021 just a few weeks after getting the truck.
That, the bed extender and Retrax cover are the best mods I've done to date in terms of usage.
The front end leveling kit with the new shocks is right up there too.

Research the IIHS, the crash testing actually used grease paint on the head of a dummy. After the crash, the paint was on the handle. So, my guess is it did factor into the decision. Maybe the p/s scored slightly higher somewhere else to compensate. Kinda silly to treat both sides equally when they are substantially different.

I was going to say, people sit on both sides.
    Someone should just ask Toyota.

Got the kit from Sparks, 20 minute install and I couldn’t be happier. The speaker wire cut took 30 seconds. My only advice is to make sure the grommet(?) metal piece the lower bolt goes into is seated behind the airbag. It’s millimeters of space, but make sure the cloth is front of the metal.
