I’m currently an auto tech at my family’s auto repair shop. Im third generation and love what I do and the relationships I’ve built with customers. As I’ve gotten older, I’m 26. Parts jobs have been interesting me. Anyone here a parts counter person for a Toyota dealer? You like your job? What’s the day to day like? Best and worst parts of your job? Any input would be great. Thanks!

I’ve developed a pretty good relationship with a few parts guys.

They can make really good money or not. Also apparently it’s super stressful and always busy. At least where I am. Turn over is high with the two buddies I know. But one told me he cleared almost 100k prior to “virus if unnamed origin”.

They both work 6 days a week and over 40+ hours. Know for a fact they are both hourly with a small or large spiff on parts.

Good deal! Sounds like a pretty good gig as long as you’re selling parts I guess. Covid did screw a lot of stuff up in the automotive parts world. We’re seeing that a lot now at the shop. But thanks for the input I’ll keep all this in mind!
