    I don’t believe the 3.0’s are IBP. BP-51’s are I believe.

I believe IBP is a separate shock/option. The base model stuff, even the 3.0, comes with a standard shim stack. The piston configuration will be different with the IBP shocks. There's actually 2 pistons, one bypass and one standard. There's a pin that sticks down from the top which activates the standard stack when the travel gets towards the bump zone. I'm not aware of any bolt-on IBP options from either fox or king. You'd have to run a bucket to eyelet adapter. I might be wrong, but this is the impression I'm getting.

In my limited experience with Billies and the Tacoma, I hope the 8112s for the Tundra make a decent deviation from their Tacoma apps. I ran 6112s and 5160s on my Tacoma and it was decent, I really liked them, until I snagged a ride in my friends truck with Kings. He actually had the 8112s on his Tacoma prior to going with Kings.

Both the 6112 and 8112 rode noticeably stiffer than the Kings. For daily use the Kings were just so much more comfortable. I suppose slow speed off roading, like trails and technical stuff, the Billies might be better suited. They were quite good at stopping rebound.

Once I moved into the Pro Tundra with the stock Fox suspension I felt the same way my friend did when he switched to Kings. I know they're different trucks but the outcome felt very similar with the change from 8112 to Kings on his Tacoma. The drive home in my Pro was night and day over the 6112s.

Suspension is very subjective though, it's just that at this price point I recommend people try to get a ride along first.

Baja 1000 truck is running Bilstein Blackhawks. Not in even in the conversation of the same product, price or setup. You're talking about $10000+ racing shocks.

I just read 1+ pages of this thread and there are more comments about products other than the Bilstein 8k stuff. :)

I'm interested in 8k feedback as well. The thing that I don't understand, and maybe someone can clarify, they have UCA limitations listed in their install docs. Some UCA's can only run with the 8112's in the highest setting. That's what stopped me from considering these.

BTW, it looks like the 8112's are being offered at 15% off right now.

That is a bit of a deterrent. Odd that only three aftermarket UCA's (Dirt King, Built Right and Camburg) work with these.

@eccracer104 thought you would find this interesting as well.

    Thanks for the tag Bob!

Yes I’ve seen it. Was wagering a gamble opting for MCM arms as opposed to the recommended from Bilstein.
I’ve got some time before suspension will be upgraded, going to re-evaluate when the time comes but these are still top of the list for now. I really like how they function, and the bump zone will definitely come in handy with the desert driving I do down here: but that’s a moot point if I plan for a secondary (which I am at some point). So many options, all great, but also stressful to get “the right one” haha.

Its required to run OEM UCA's per class 8100 rules in SCORE. You can only change the springs and shock. No mods to the major suspension components.

For best ride, I’ve heard the Fox Trd Pro shocks are extremely hard to beat. Have also heard Kings for the best ride.

I plan on hitting some trails in the next couple weeks and will be posting my thoughts as I put some miles on these, we should definitely post both of our results after using them on and off road, I haven't read any real reviews on these for the tundra application yet. I feel it would be very beneficial for our community, and maybe we can convince more people to pull the trigger on these bad boys :fistbump:

If you're driving on the street then stick with stock. Maybe smoke less and you'll realize what thread you clicked on next time.

I know what thread I clicked on, Einstein. Dropping that much coin for a shock that will see the street more often than not is insane. Unless you have someone picking up the bill for you which most do not.

Almost every 2nd gen tundra is mainly a street vehicle. They're daily drivers. But when we do take them off road, it's great to have the performance these shocks provide, not to mention the amazing on road ride quality you get from them everyday. They blow away the 6112s in every aspect. Worth every penny imo. I'll be getting the rear shocks to match next year.

And if most tundras see nothing but street use, why upgrade them at all? Skids? Sliders? Lift? Bigger tires? It's because alot of us use them off road and need a daily driver that is also capable off road. Sure, having a dedicated off road rig is nice, but having one rig to do it all is even better, and cheaper than having 2 trucks.

I also bought my truck used, for 18k, so if I sank 30k into mods, that brings the price to 48k, which is still cheaper than a new platinum, and I get way more enjoyment and capability than a new stock truck, and my truck will realistically last just as long. I have zero intention of getting rid of this truck in the next 15 years, so I'm making it into what I want it to be, so I can enjoy it for years to come.
