Upper control arm after lift

    looking here for ideas and instruction...
    I have looked through the forum and can't seem to see the answer so here goes..... I put a 2.5"-3" spacer lift in the front and 1.5" in the back... put the same one on my 2007 Tundra back long ago and never had an issue. Looks great level and ride is fine too.

    I used the same on my 2021 Tundra limited and install went fine. I ran into some guy in the HomeDepot parking lot with a Tundra with a 4" lift so of course we got to talking. I was asking about his tires rubbing 35 12.5 18s and he had some cut outs etc etc... then we started looking at the upper control arm and his was level... meaning 90 degree angle to the pavement. With my spacer mine is pointed down ... maybe 15-20 degrees and he started talking about how it shouldn't be that way. It is still the same one from the factory but my question is will I cause any damage? is it something to be concerned about? Love to see pics of others or someone that understands what the heck I'm talking about.

    I just don't see with a spacer how it can still be level... am I wrong?

    If he has 4 inch lift, it was probably not coilovers and is a bracket lift. Those lift in a different manner than coilovers, so they keep the stockish UCA geometry. Or, he could have installed aftermarket UCA.

    If your truck drives well and front end alignment is good, you are likely fine. On a Tundra, UCA can improve driveability and ability to get good alignment and if the tech is good, you can even fix or reduce tire rubbing issues with aftermarket adjustable UCA. Once you get to 3 inch lifted coilovers, UCA generally need to be replaced for the reasons I mentioned. Lots of people also run adjustable UCA on 2.5 inch lifts and many other just run the stockers.

    and just FTI- the Pro models are 2 inches higher in front (stock) than other trims and still use the regular stock toyota UCA, adjustable UCA not required for 2 inch lift.

    Good to know... thank you! I do plan on putting 305 70 18s on it with those TRD BBS black rims. we shall see if those are a bit to wide for the stock UCA..
