So I am going to order the Ranchhand Midnight for my 2018 tundra. My current suspension setup is Bilstein 5100s on the middle setting. I really like the way it sits now and am concerned about the added weight of the new bumper. My plan is to add a cb shim to each side to prevent the front end from sagging too much. My question is if this seems like a good idea or should I completely redo my suspension with different shocks and heavier springs. I do not want to cause any excessive wear on my front suspension components but would like to keep my current setup if at all possible. I have read most of the threads on here about about front bumpers and suspension setups but no one seems to be running the setup I plan on doing. Any input is appreciated thank you.

    Too many, but not enough....
You could do some rough calculations to figure out how much you would sag if you know the spring rate you have and how much that bumper weighs.

Not sure about the spring rate. Per Ranchhand’s website the bumper weighs 260lbs.

I would think at worst you are looking at a 1/3" sag.

How much do you weigh? Climb on the front of your truck and take before and after measurements.

I’ll have to give that a try, I’m mainly worried about over-stressing my front end components in the long run.

I wouldn't. I had the RanchHand replacement bumper with bull bar, stock springs, no lift and it didn't even move the front end (maybe 1/8"). Nothing I would even notice.

I’m running stock springs and 5100s at the highest setting with my Fab Four Matrix bumper and Smitty winch. With this setup I’m level front and rear with no rake and haven’t noticed any drawbacks as far as weight and handling (it’s been close to a year). Knowing what I know now I may have went with the middle setting to allow some rake. 7416B3C4-1250-42B9-A2F6-3615682F16FB.jpg7416B3C4-1250-42B9-A2F6-3615682F16FB.jpg510EEB21-FC43-4C92-897F-623BE40B90C1.jpg7416B3C4-1250-42B9-A2F6-3615682F16FB.jpg 1DDC58E6-91A1-4876-8ADD-94FDE76FF6F3.jpg
