So I went for a drive in the country today first stopping off to get gas, I didn't really need it since I had a half a tank and hadn't bought any for 3 weeks. Man it's nice being retired and not putting on 500+ miles a week!
Anyway I came upon a quarry and saw hundreds if not thousands of new pickups sitting there.

Sorry the pix not very good but that's what you get with cheap phones. Well there's a GM plant in Wentzville and due to the shortage of chips that had to park them somewhere. They kept the employees working as much as possible but they can only do that so long.

There's a Toyota plant in Troy where they cast engine heads and it looks like they're down to 1 shift a day and no weekends, I'm not sure if they ever ran 3 shifts but they did have 2 and folks working weekends at one time.

Wonder what model year those trucks will sell as when the chips do become available. 2021 or 2022? At least they aren’t doing a complete remodel.
