As a big fan of DC, that was pretty funny.

I wouldn’t worry about the new Ram transmissions. Pretty solid units now days.

I wasn't sure how many people watched Dave Chapelle here and would get the reference, more than I thought lol I'm a long time fan of his as well.

The power wagons are damn good looking, front AND rear lockers and e disconnect for sway bar. Them transmissions though... glad to hear they've improved. I'm a little cautious when it comes to dropping the amount of coin these trucks cost.

She has had a newer PW and used it. She didn’t have any complaints that I can remember.

I don't tow often but when i do it's usually 300+miles with some mountain terrain where mpg are already not stellar. I've been on and off about diesels mainly due to reliability concerns of every manufacturer

I did not have an aftermarket transmission cooler. I’ve towed my camper from Texas to North Carolina and back, through the Smokies an all over the place. I did not monitor my transmission temps but never had a warning light come on. I always had tow haul on and stayed in S4, S5 while towing. Never had an issue with the tranny.

I have that same concern as well but just went ahead and took a leap of faith. Like I said earlier the couple of people I know with these trucks have had next to zero issues. One guy had an abs sensor that the dealer fixed in a day. Other than that just regular maintenance on them. Time will tell if this was a poor decision or not.

It’s a 2020 with 6500 miles on it. Guy that traded basically trades out every year and apparently did not drive it much.

    Beautiful truck!
I’ve been leaning towards a diesel for my next truck for how much I tow…i’d only consider a Cummins. My dad has had 3 in the last 15 years with a ton of miles and never even a hiccup.

make sure you get the recall done on your injection pump. You will be in line for a while. With all the CP4 failures Ram has experienced in the 2019-2020 models…don’t wait.

Also, make sure the factory warranty is still intact and transferred to you. If that injection pump fails, it will cost ~15000.00 to repair out of warranty. I have my CP3 conversion in my garage right now waiting to be installed once I get a spare 16 hours to perform that task on my Duramax.

That is correct…and there will be a waiting list for sure due to parts availability. I had to wait for my CP3 for around 4 weeks.
Glad Ram went back to the CP3. Only took them two years to figure it out. GM ran them from 2011-2016, ford 2011 to present.

Even if you had to do the conversion yourself, it would have been 2700.00 (little more spendy on the Cummins) but way more simple to do. No timing the pump like the CP4s.

The non converted trucks can be had for a pretty good deal.

Start looking in spring of ‘22. Doesn’t sound like the 2022 Tundra has impressed you much. Gotta love what you drive.

Rams pull well. This is a co-workers 2019 2500. He loves it…except for the length ticket he just got in that picture. Over 70’.

I tell everyone to avoid the 19s and 20s. We have a 19 2500 Laramie and the CP4 failure is a huge disappointment. His best advice is never let your gas tank go under 1/4 full, or half. Ours went boom at 24k miles. Luckily the dealer did the replacement at no charge within a week. But it was a shitty day considering our CP4 exploded while we had a trailer full of stuff on our final haul to our new home. It died in the middle of the desert on a Sunday afternoon when it was 115 degrees. We had a 16 Powerwagon prior. No complaints with the gasser. We are looking for some pretty unique combinations as a replacement but it’s slim pickings out there.

Did Ram replace with a CP3 or back to the craptastic CP4?

YES!! I’ve got a late 20 build so has the upgraded symmetrical pump but i know it’s STILL a CP4 and that ain’t good lol. The recall kinda helped me out on picking up this 20 because i know they will fix it eventually.

I’ll be honest, this would be the base for my lottery truck. Then I would max it out in height, wheels and tires etc.

It really isn’t that heavy. Camper 11k (usually around 10k lbs) fully loaded and he never is, boat and trailer is under 3000.

Where this gets you is wind resistance. That is the real ass kicker in this setup.
