2nd Gen CM head units and audio set up for NON-JBL

Hey everyone, while I'm not new to the forum at all I am new to the audio game. I have been researching and while I already did email James at @james@tech12volts I wanted to see what everyone thought or could chime in.

I have never upgraded the HU or the speakers in the truck.

I do have a 2010 Crew Max and as said it is non-jbl.

I have read a lot of good things on the pioneers and Dasaita and a few on kenwood. I am trying to find a head unit that will fit nicely but is not overly big either.

The Dasaita has the mount that fits into the dash nicely so something along those lines or slightly smaller. I dont think I want to go over a 10.1 inch screen so if anyone could help guide me in the right direction it be much appreciated.

If you change the HU will the system sound better if you don't change the speakers?
