    Quiz for Android users.

What US city was the first to have a citywide gigabit network?

Chattanooga also has/had (not sure if it's still going) VW's only US plant. I'd say that's solidly sophisticated 3rd world. :p

    Correct.

Android user here, though my last two phones have not been as good as my Samsung Galaxy S5 was. Phones are just too expensive these days.

Exactly. I am not a fan of proprietary tech that limits me what I can do with it. Everyone says Android has security issues. That's funny because in all the years I've used Android, I've never had anything bad happen to my phone or data stolen, but I also don't download BS apps and things that could potentially compromise the security of the device.

My first smart phone was a Motorola Droid. Then the X2. When Samsung came out with good phones, it was S3, 5, 7+, and now 10+. They've all been good to me.

The only reason I had to replace a couple of my Samsungs was because the Otterboxes didn't stand up to the real world stress tests. Never an issue with the phones themselves.

I ordered myself this Pixel 4A about a year ago because the external speaker on my Samsung Galaxy A5 stopped working at a time when I knew I'd need it a lot. Naturally, as soon as I ordered a new phone, it went back to working fine. I still use it to listen to music while I'm working because the battery in the Pixel is too small.

Preferred device is currently my iPhone 13, though I spent many years in the rooted/custom mod camp on Android back to the original Droid (and used windows phones before that…anyone remember those). Had a Treo before that.

But my vote is two cans and some string because between my cell reception and my internet service at home, that pretty much what I get.

The problem is that the VAST majority of people don't think about security when they see that cool new app that does something they've never needed before, but they install it anyway. I am the same way with my PC. I ran without any antivirus or firewall for years until bots started actively searching for unprotected PC's, but I KNEW what I was installing and wouldn't let anyone else use my laptop.

My brother is still using a Windows phone. It's no longer supported by the Microsoft app store so he can't even use the camera on it or run any apps. Honestly, I'm surprised it still lets him text.

5 years ago I would've said the same "because" on all the androids I had owned too.

Nothing like Samsung maybe giving you one OS update and releasing it 6 months after the base code comes out, and then having to hope for someone to hack or brute force the kernel to be able to load a ROM onto it. And everything Google dropped was about having the biggest damn phone in the world. I have a guy that works for me that is 6' 7" and 400 lbs. The Nexus phone actually fit his bear-paw hands, but to me it was like carrying an ipad mini around and trying to pull that out of my pocket.

I seriously gave up giving a shit about what device I had in my hand. As long as it worked as a phone and the apps I wanted to use were available, had adequate storage, and a good camera, I'd rock a fucking Blackberry again. I've got a a 6 year old iphone SE on the counter at home that I think is an awesome size...and it's running the latest version of IOS without issues.

I finally traded up from my iPhone 7plus to the 13 Pro max. I bought both phones for me and the wife. Plugged it in the tundra today for the first time for my Apple Music. Man I love this phone so far. See if I can make this one last for 5 years. Lol.

Just upgraded to the 13 Pro, and I do like it.

I switched from a Blackberry to an iPhone back in 07 or 08 when the original iPhone came out. The Blackberries would drive you insane: freezing, black screen, stupid amount of little buttons. Switching to the iPhone was like being allowed to breathe again. Our IT dept guys all said we were crazy and would regret using iPhones. They treated it like a political affiliation, and seemed genuinely hurt that we wouldn’t drink the juice and get Windows phones.

Well, 15 years later almost, I have NEVER regretted having an iPhone, and have never had any issues with any of them.

To be fair, I have never used an Android device, so I cannot say they are bad, lesser, or hold no advantage over an Apple/IOS device.

To me, it’s like arguing over which brand of toilet is better. Gerber…? Delta…..?

Easy to giggle at someone who would dismiss you as a total prick for choosing the wrong brand of toilet…
