I have a 2021 Crewmac and yesterday i brought her in to toyota as the truck keeps on having issues on starting and its been a handfull of times now of not starting and it would not even turn over.
after an hour the young mechanic at toyota is saying that the issue in not the battery and that my Amp for my subs, tailgate light bar and hood bulge lights which are all LED lights are the culprits and is drawing power from the battery. They are charging the battery right now apparently, also the DCM for the remote connect need to be replaced that's why my phone app is not working properly. Apparently is an issue with toyota .
I'm told to buy a trickle charger for the battery and plug it in each night. You guys have any input on this?

Factory batteries are hit or miss. Mine was bad after about a year. Your accessories could have a small draw that is affecting the battery. Test for a draw when the truck is off and if there is one, unhook stuff one by one to find it or try a better battery.

Check the mods you made for amp draw Tim mentioned above. You should not have to leave a battery charger on, something is amiss if you are losing that much power overnight.

Shouldn’t need a charger on a new truck, but then again, like mentioned above these batteries can be hit or Miss from the factory.

Do you have a multi-meter so you can test the electrical items?

If you do buy a charger/tender, I recommend CTEK, great little tool for long or extended times of leaving vehicles parked and preventing battery drainage.

Do you have all of the added goodies powered with ignition ON? The lights should be easy to visually verify no draw on battery. Depending on how you have the amp powered, it may not be turning off with ignition off. They should be able to easily measure current draw on the battery with ignition off. Ask for a value of how much current draw is present with ignition off.

Stock batteries are even worse after being completely depleted.
