Well i just traded my 2019 Tundra 1794 for a RAM 2500 Laramie Night Edition. I felt that i needed something alittle beefier to tow my camper around. My Tundra did great over 53K miles and only ever had to change a battery besides routine maintenance. I know the payload isn’t great in the 2500 Megacab but I’ll never haul a 5th wheel only bumper pulls so I’ll be fine. I was sad to see the Tundra go, if I ever go back to a half ton I would only entertain a Tundra as it was such a good truck. My sadness is slowly fading driving this RAM because it is flat out amazing and the Cummins is beastly. I know a couple people with late model RAM heavy duty trucks and they have been great trucks for those guys, hoping i have the same luck. It seems as though the RAM brand has made some good progress with reliability the last few years. I looked at the GMC trucks and was not a fan of the interior. Also looked at Ford trucks but got burned by my last two Fords. My expedition has that turd 5.4 motor that died and the F150 Platinum stayed in the shop.

Anyway I’ve gotten a lot of great advice on this forum for towing, maintenance and upgrades, this place has been great! I’d like to stay on this forum to keep up with Tundra stuff if possible. Here’s a pic of the new ride, it really is an amazing machine.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted by a power wagon... but I'll be dammed if I buy that sucker knowing full well it will have more tranny problems than Dave chapelle.

Congrats, my BIL got a 2021 Laramie Sport Off-road 2500 that I have driven a number of times. You will love that truck, and they have done a great job with the updated interior.

His ocean boat is almost 10k pounds, and handles it like nothing. It’s crazy how much low end torque that truck has.

My current trailer is not that big, maybe 6K loaded. I will upgrading the trailer in a couple of years so this was in preparation for that scenario.

i don't see a problem with buying a Dodge if you're a habitual truck flipper. however, I'm in for the long haul and no Dodge i know of shares that sentiment. Best of luck with the new whip OP

Curious what your mpg are when towing with your new rig vs towing with the tundra.

Due to a past experience, I absolutely hate, abhor, detest anything Dodge/Chrysler/etc. That said, I have heard that the quality of 3/4T and larger Dodge trucks is MUCH better than the 1/2T or other Dodge/Chrysler/etc. vehicles. Best of luck!

I’ve only had the truck a few days so have not towed yet. My mpg in this RAM driving 30 mile round trip to work is showing 20.2. I’d prolly subtract .5 from the lieometer though.

It was a tough decision and I only did it to move up to a bigger truck. I wish Toyota offered an HD I would be first in line.

    Random question for you.

Did you have the after market transmission cooler on your Tundra and if not.......have you had any problems prior to unloading it on the Ram?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide regarding any temp issues or transmission problems you may or may not have had while towing with the Tundra.

I am on the fence about getting one of Nick's coolers vs just changing fluids earlier and keeping fingers crossed that if any problems arise they do so before my extended warranty runs out.

Can't quite justify moving up to a 2500 yet and love the Tundra.

Nice looking truck you got there!
