You really think Google review and some bad word of mouth is going to put a major dent in this business? Getting an attorney like they are going to pay big sums so you don’t go crazy with your keyboard? Stolen vehicle? It was in their possession at the time, not yours. I doubt that goes anywhere.
You have already posted this here and I’ll bet there will be members that still go to that place.
Get what you can and don’t take years off your life going crazy over some extra miles on your truck. It’s not worth the headache IMO.

 

OP has the ball, If me, the payday would just be the beginning and it would substantially exceed the value of the services. With the evidence in hand, OP has an extremely easy case.

 

Evidence that the owner of a business that had possession of his truck drove it around without his consent? What is the case and what are the charges?

I only buy my vehicles there I use a different dealer for service one that my device rep and I have had a relationship for business since 2006!!! And that place is top notch and the wife , daughter and myself can just show up anytime and he’ll help us out to get things straight!!

 

Y’all know the bad part about this is??!!! They would have never told me about this or brought it up one bit!! The only reason they got caught was I have LOJACK!! I really thought about shut g it down but then I thought about calling the police. I was on the phone with police and by the time we figured out I should have LOJACKed it the truck was hauling ass back to LINE X of South Houston!!

 

Take all you can get until you feel whole about the issue. I would also request a Narc Dog from the PD check the vehicle to see if anything was transported. If the dog alerts, the dealership owns it again.

Everyone of my toyotas has left the lot under 1 mile on the OD or I wouldn't buy it. I also track my vehicles.

Forty years ago I would be bailing my self out of jail or not?? But something bad would have happened and that is pure D FACT!!! Use to like pain,, a lot!!!! just like an old Clint movie. Still pissed but the damage is done and I texted the owner the guy that did it and he admitted again it was a dang foolish thing for him to do. I gave him times my vehicle sat vacant and I let him know where it was as and for how long. He now admits he went to his daughters recital for what reason other than to drive a kick ass ride I do not know why he did not take his own vehicle or what ever ride he had at shop. He states I have every right to be upset as he would be too. I told him to leave money in the console and he says he will but wants to make it right and wants to earn my trust with some free truck stuff and what ever I can pick out at a drastically reduced price??? We shall see. Someone has a good idea and I think I will ask they (the dealer) get me a TRD skid plate, and an Tonneau Cover or something??? I do not know. The GM and the Collision Center will hear about it in the morning and go from there??

 

This is from the owner!!!!!!! Now I just need to figure it out. Being pissed is just a natural response. I am still pissed but it is not going to consume me. I hope he is good on his word and see what the dealer wants to do being that they sent my truck to these two places?!!!! Where he says drop something off that is just a lie!! He stayed for the recital!!!!

Take advantage of this situation and rightfully so. Get what you can and move on. . I am not justifying this horse shit in any way but all said and done it’s a some extra miles on your truck in return for some free and cool shit. That’s how I would look at it.

If there is a business big or small I have never used before, I will read the Google reviews. Especially if its something major, like my future Supercharger install. Will do as much research as possible.

 

That’s great! So do I. But there’s always a few negative reviews and some are really bad. If the majority are good I’ll let that outweigh the bad. Just like you do I’d bet..

 

99 percent of this places reviews are outstanding. 1 bad one which just about everyone would blow off in favor of the good.

 

But if I decide to write on there there is a chance you vehicle might be taken out for the family cruise doing 75 mph I would hope the normal person would look somewhere else?? But you never know??

 

But, you will be bad review number 2 vs a ton of great reviews. I’d probably go and tell them I’m aware of the review and I know what my mileage is. Because I guarantee they won’t be doing that shit again.

Plus, convenience plays a big part for most people. If the good outweighs the bad they aren’t driving to San Antonio get their shit lined.
You’re negative review will not put much of a dent on their business. Use this garbage to your advantage and get compensated.

 

The jerk offs prepping my Tundra put a huge surface scratch on my roof. The dealer gave me clear bra and free LineX plus had a detailer work out that scratch. I’ll take that over thinking I’m screwing them with a negative review.

 

Yup I think I ran that home enough and he was quite shocked when I busted him and told him I was seriously thinking about making him come down and giving me my truck back right then and there!!! But when he started with the apologies and free stuff and drastic discounts then I told him to keep it but made him give his word the truck will be at the dealer tomorrow!!!!

I am going to tell the GM that this place has sent my truck to two incompetent businesses and that I would like compensation for my troubles and ask them what they are willing to do to remedy this situation? If they turn it back on me I will tell them I want the painted fender flares to match like come with the 19 Sport and a TRD front Skid plate and I will worry about installing?? This is the only thing I can think of? It doesn’t seem to be at all fair to me but is the only thing I can think of. They can write it off thru the company and there won’t be any cash changing hands???

I really should ask them to make a payment on my truck being that they have had it a month but knowing this place they would not like to write a check!!!!

 

I restored a Lancia Zagato 20 years ago and spent over a week prepping and painting the allow rims before taking the rims to Sears for new tires. I told the service writer three times NO HAMMER ON WEIGHTS. And they hammered weights on all four scratching the paint. Sears asked what I wanted and I put my finger on the total price. Went home, touched up the paint and admired my 4 free tires.

 

This might seem over the top, but tell them you want them to buy the truck from you for 15k (or whatever is acceptable to you) above KBB. Given how anal you are about this truck (and are not most of us with our vehicles?), just having this truck will be a forever reminder of how it and you were violated. I doubt a free liner or other discounts will ever make you forget.

 

^^^^That is what I hate, especially after you explain to them what to do. Then on top of it all you are paying for this service. I never had much and still don’t compared to most but one thing I do is respect other peoples property and if I borrow tools or something I bring it right back. I respect what others have worked hard to get and all I expect is that people respect my stuff and I get mad when people don’t. I have to save to have we we have as a family, my stuff is my stuff it ain’t theirs!!!

 

I’m going to have to agree. Some dude drove your truck and to make matters worse had his daughter in there. You need to unload that thing ASAP. It will never be the same again. For all we know they disgraced your radio with country which will undoubtedly blow it up.
This shit is getting out of hand. You need to get over it.

 

What a dickbag. This is why I never leave my truck anywhere. If I absolutely have to, I always take a pic of my odometer when I drop it off.
