Lost my key

    Long story short i lost my only key to my truck. I know it is a G code key. If i bring proof of ownership and VIN to dealer or locksmith place with my own key that i boight will they cut it? Also my friend has that snap on zues scanner can that program this key?? I called and was quoted $235 for locksmoth to come out and have it cut and programed. Thanks!!

    Did you buy the truck new?
    If so, it should have come with a bar code tag and a metal key code tag.

    If not, the seller should have included it when he sold it or traded it in.

    No i bought it used at a used car lot no tags like that. I have the fob to unlock and lock truck but the key ripped off somewhere

    I found this pic while I was searching.
    I have no idea if there is any truth to it.
    I replaced my black handles on my 2014 with painted handles using the original keyed lock cylinders.
    Don't remember if I saw this or not.

    Remove one bolt and pull it out.
    No need to pull the interior door panel.

    That would be HUGE help! Thanks for the heads up where would i have that code brought? Any key cutting place?

    I'm guessing Toyota dealer.
    Maybe a locksmith.

    Not really sure.
