Sometimes while driving my engine cuts out (dies) but if I pump the gas or put the gas pedal to the floor the engine starts up again with some popping back thru the intake, If I hang in there it will do this for several cycles and will straighten out for some time may be 1 week or several mos. and then back with the same problem again. Could it be the o2 sensor?

An o2 sensor will not cut fuel or spark to zero. It will also give you a check engine, if it is not happy. Are you getting check engine light for misfire? Check battery cables and grounds first. All the grounds in the engine compartment you can find the bigger the cable the better.

    Possibly coil packs going bad.
Clean MAF sensor too with proper cleaner. No rags though, only the spray. This should relieve some of your greaf.

I used to do that, but I drive 40k a year and can’t afford that fancy stuff. I use Gas Buddy app to find the cheapest gas imaginable lol. I throw in a bottle of Amsoil fuel system cleaner once a year and call it good

Well, the cheapest gas I can find is about $4.39, so I’d say pretty $hity :poking:

But so far I haven’t had any issues with the cheap gas. I have 4 first gens and combined over million miles.

People who know about it, know about it. It's solid stuff. I always put a few drops in each cylinder of an engine that's been sitting a day or three before firing up, or before storing - you can rest assured it won't have any dry-fire damage, nor freeze up. Stuff is awesome.

But I typically opt for SeaFoam in my tank and oil for routine maintenance. 1oz per quart in the oil 500-1,000 miles before an oil change, and 1oz per gallon in the gas tank whenever I want a top-end clean, or 2oz/gal on any vehicle new to me. It's a highly refined petrol product so no harm comes with doubling or tripling their suggested amt.

Mmo has been a godsend for stuff that sits. I learned about it tuning lister 6hp singles that ran airpumps for underwater divers. When you want an engine to be run hard and put up wet, a little mmo goes a long way. Works on chainsaws and weedeaters, too.

I heard one of the ingredients is the souls of thankless laborers, but its not listed in the msds.

You should check your air filter. And make sure it is clean.

You should check your PCV valve. And make sure it is operating properly.

Or. Hell. Just replace them both.
