We got 13” during monsoon season this year - more than ever in my life. In 2020 we got 1.6” that same period of time and 4” all year. When it runs down a 5,000’ slope it gets ripping pretty good!

I spent the morning cleaning up the battle scars from last time we went out. Took about 3.5 hours to buff the pinstripes out and hit it with some Griots 3-in-1. That stuff works great.

I was told it's better for the bees if you just use your lawnmower to mulch it into the grass.

A lot easer than dumping the mower bag every 3 minutes as it gets full, too. I guess I'm really just whining anyway. It's not digging a ditch.

    Anyone else do gingerbread houses?

Me and my son did an A frame modeled after the place we are renting for vacation in the spring.

We did a prefab Oreo kit. I’d probably get into building one from scratch but my wife isn’t the creative type and would rather have someone else make all the decisions, as long as I’m not the one making them…

We are doing a kit as well. I’m creative but tomorrow is my only day off and I don’t feel like cursing that much.

I didn't make a gingerbread house, put up lights, decorate a tree, or do anything holiday related today.

But, I did relax, read the paper, and day drink, so I got that going for me.

My grandson got a real nice T ball glove Friday among other gifts at a Boys & Girls Club field trip. I went to my storage unit today and got out my Easton bat bag. Haven't opened it up since 1999. Grabbed a couple new Pony League Diamond DPL game balls. 20 years old! 20211211_161332.jpg 20211211_161424.jpg 20211211_162505.jpg 20211211_163309.jpg I played catch with him for the first time. A nice day to do it. F**k... He has a great arm like his dad and grandpa. My expensive Rawlings fielder glove was still in good condition. "Millennium" Not a cheap glove back then. Needs an oiling so I ordered some glove oil. While we were playing catch I had XM Country Xmas playing in my Fronty. My favorite Xmas song came on. Gene Autry's version of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. "Grandpa, we sing that song in class." I was stunned. "Do you sing other Xmas songs in school ?" "Of course grandpa!" Made my day.....

I was impressed enough today. Manny will bypass T ball. Get him in to the real deal. He'll be ready by this spring.

We're doing one next Saturday. My wife has this rule that we're not allowed to eat them until Christmas Day and I don't like rock hard gingerbread.

That 12" inch glove that Manny got is a bit big. I pulled out that still well mink oiled catchers mit my Son used that's in one of the pics. Manny handled it quite nicely. I'm stunned.
BTW... I don't sleep for shit anymore. Woke up a 4am. I took a coworker's advice and started watching "Yellowstone" Season 1, Ep1. After Ep6 around 11:30 am, I decided that I need to get something done today. Around 6am I paused, started some bacon. Manny still crashed. Un-paused. Bacon done. Paused again. Prepped my cast iron for when Manny waked up for a nice omlete. Manny woke up during Ep3 I think.

we never eat them. I’ll snap a piece off for tasting before tossing, but it’s always hard, stale and gross.

Mainly we make them because our entire family (which is huge, about 70 people including all cousins etc) does and we all submit them for judging online via email.

Each family submits photos and a pending $5 entry fee. Winner gets prize money after votes are cast and is paid via PayPal or Venmo. Usually they get a few hundred.
We’ve been doing it for years.

We do the hurricane versions lately and just throw them in a pile then fill up the sink with water and throw it in.

It’s the ranch hunt truck. Hardly leaves the ranch except for service. You might notice the break lights are all taped off. So is every other light except the IR fogs on the front of it.

Did a brisket for the first time today. It came out OK, but I had a few snags since busy today. Still fairly good tho.
