No relation to this company at all....just throwing this out there for anyone wondering, if you door tensioners are shot, there is a cheap way to rebuild them. I was actually pretty skeptical, but the price was so low I figured it wouldn't matter if it turned out to be junk

It took about six weeks for them to arrive, but they worked perfectly. The kit is enough to fix four doors, for less than the price of one replacement tensioner.

Its simply a matter of removing the tensioner, drilling out the spot welds, replacing the contact pads with the new ones from the kit, and putting it back in the door. Takes about an hour to do all four doors on an access cab.

    No more floppy doors!

Hehe, that's great news! I have a set in my garage waiting to install :) After I spend the hour to put them in, I will be pissed that I didn't do it sooner.

Yeah, I had mine laying on the bench for about a month before I actually got to them, but it was easier than I thought.

If you haven't figured it out yet, after you remove your inner door panels, you remove the speakers to actually access the inside of the door to pull the tensioner out.

Also, when you install the new pads, make sure you do it with the hinge part pulled all the way out. Once its put together, its really hard to slide without the door attached, and if pushed in, not long enough to leave the door open enough to give you clearance to actually attach it.

It takes considerable force to squish the assembly back together, channel locks are your friend for that part:

Awesome post! All mine are worn-out, at 80 each for new I'll give this a shot.

You won't regret it. I have been running mine since August and there are still working great. Once you do one, the rest go super easy. The 'hardest' part is opening your old ones but even that is easy with a dremel and drill. I think both doors took me an hour with the first one taking 30-40min....
