Leavitt Lake and Smith River National Recreational area last few weeks. Smith River was amazing!

 

I would do 700 without having an aluminum front bumper.

 

Thanks Dan. That Smith River area looks cool. I drove right by there a few years back driving to Bandon on vacation. Spent some time fishing in Roseburg area but wished I had time to check out the Smith. Happy 4th!

Fun at Leavitt Lake again for the 3 day weekend. Buddy had an issue with his FJ so tested out his Tuff Stuff Trailer. Impressed how well the trailers follows the rear wheels.

 

Death Valley trip with the buddies just before Thanksgiving. This trip came with an epic jet fly over just before Lippincott turn off!

But.. The aluminum ARB compressor mount couldn’t handle the last Death Valley trip. Broke on every bend. RIP mount. @sdhq_offroad Mount has taken its place along with a new dual ARB Compressor. Way more stout!

Mendocino National Forest trip last weekend. Lots of rain and mud. Little bit of snow as we left and of course lots of fun!

 

Gotta love leaking seals. New seals and wheel bearings are installed now.

Now the t-case front output seal has to be done. Now that’s going to be lots of fun for a $15 part since Borg Warner decided to put a c clip on the front output yoke. Doing the rear while at is also.

 

Well ended up picking up a used t-case with 27k from a 2017 Tundra for 400 bucks and popped it in. Well worth the time saved of splitting the case to rebuild and down time of the truck.

 

Lots of trips since my last post of the T-case being replaced and wheel bearings!

Guided Tour for Pure 4x4 in Plumas NF with for my good buddy from OTG. Had to pull 6 down trees going towards Porker Flat. Sadly a 6ft snow drift stopped our tour 3 miles in. We all had a blast though!

Then back to Sawmill Lake for round 2!




Then I got back home from Sawmill Lake and my baby wouldn’t crank. ECU, crankshaft sensor, abs, wheel sensors, dash would say trans overheating in the display. Battery good, no blown fuses, no obvious signs of rodent damage from Sawmill. So for the first time ever with 177k she had to be towed to the dealer. Turns out a bad starter relay and a funky ground on the drivers side fender




Then off to Plumas NF for July 4th

Then a nice trip before thanksgiving to east Mojave heritage trail. So much more to explore on the heritage trail. Can’t wait to go back and explore the rest!
