We all have to learn our limits.
Some just chose more difficult ways than others.
Well brand have ruined many.

I do like tequila more than most anything.
Cheap whiskey I stay away from.
I enjoy a sip on a nice Scotch.
The tropical drinks are good at the beach.

Tequila - Happy and funny
Scotch - Talkative, inquisitive and funny
Rum - Loud and funny
Whiskey - looking to fight but funny
Mix any of those things in excess - asshole

When you start mixing, be it beer and liquor, or different types of liquor, it sends one down a bad path...

I forget, I will drink a tropical drink when we hit a tropical resort.
Hard not to have a pina colada or 6 on the beach in a day when it is all-inclusive..
Strawberry margaritas are good too, they use real fruit.
They usually have DosXX or Modleo for beer, that works, I drink those at home.
One trip to Jamaica they had Red Stripe, equivalent of Lone Star (ouch), but it worked for a few days..

We'll tip the fu(k out of the waitstaff the first 2 days so they all remember us and use brand liquor.
Hopefully it isn't watered down...
Then continue to tip well throughout our stay..

But never a single shot or slammer or whatever they call them these days.

Taking 2 weeks off in July 2022.
My birthday is the 5th, hers is the 8th, and anniversary is the 11th.
She wants to go somewhere nice for our 15th anniversary.

Maybe back to Negril Jamaica, where we got married 07/11/2007..
But she has always wanted to go to the Florida Keys...

yes, I’m fine. that was August 2017. My wife’s cousin’s daughter’s wedding. They were mixing Moscow Mules very strong (~4-5 shots of Titos per drink). I remember 5 of them. And maybe a shot of Fireball. I woke up in the ER. I don’t remember throwing up in my wife’s brand new car, at the volunteer fire station on the way home, in the yard… I don’t remember the ambulance ride, the IV, the .16 BAC (this is after all the heaving).
I do remember waking up having to piss so bad it hurt, then passing back out for another two hours. And the look of utter disgust my wife had when she picked me up and brought me home…before I crawled into bed and slept 9 more hours.

never had a hangover. But I also learned that if I’m not pouring, I should stay the fuck away from the hard stuff.

Had one whisky too many with my son last night, along with one great cigar (Ashton) and one that was pretty good (Macanudo) by the fire pit. Really nice evening - low 50's and no wind. Once I shake the cobwebs out I'm going to finish paining my Valhalla's engine skid and front cat plate. Might have to wait until tomorrow to get them mounted up. Low key day, for sure.

 

We don't have to wait on an official meet up. Lunch or a quick beer on a Saturday can happen anytime. I'm up in Plano.
But @Squatting Pigeon we could bump that thread and see who's got free time on a Saturday or Sunday soon...

 

Man, been busy AF last 2 weeks, moving mom from assisted living to memory care(TBI), dad totaled his truck and broke 5 ribs and T spine compression fractures, work, call, new GF and keeping up with this thread.
So today we’re trying to just chill, but I’m not great at that and neither is GF so we’re probably gonna go to rock and mineral show. Been years since I’ve been to one so should be cool.
@1lowlife , good to hear you have the week off, I’m guessing the pooch will be feeling a lot better by Thanksgiving with you around more.

The gem and mineral show here is one of the biggest in the world. Lots of gutter squirrels travel along with it. And don’t even try to rent a hotel during that time, literally all of them sell out!
