Hey, does anyone have the Toyota branded tri fold cover? I am debating getting it on my 2021 Tundra or the new BAK FLIP F1 or BAK FLIP MX4.
I saw in a video that the Toyota one has drain lines on it to move water. Is that true? It also sits on top of your bed rails. I would prefer to keep it inside the bed rails like the BAK ones but perhaps it is better at keeping out water. I also do not know how strong it is in comparison.

    What do you all think?

I have the MX4 rollover and love it. No water no issues and it allows original bed rails and ties with an adaptor. I like the flush fit and look. The top is surprisingly solid and still looking great after over two years. It rolls easily our of the way for a full load

I recommend the Bak Flip MX-4. My 2015 and 2021 had this cover with zero issues. I really dig flush look on this cover.

The dealer installed a Rugged Cover tri fold when I purchased my truck new. It appears it’s the same that Toyota SE dealers used minus the Toyota emblem. Love the Rugged Cover 2 tri fold. Water tight and goes on or off in about 30 seconds.

Yeah, I like how the Toyota one comes off so easy and has a way of moving water... not really sure how necessary that is though. I found it surprising that Toyota offers a 3 year warranty but BAK Flip offers a 5 year.

I got the UnderCover UltraFlex tri-fold after doing lots of research ... very pleased with it. No vibration or road noise. Have not seen more than a few drops of water at each end of the tailgate/back corners of the bed. I like the design with the props so you can open all the way to the third panel if you need full use of the bed.

I had an OEM Rugged Cover on my 2019 and recently got a MX4 for my 2021. I like the MX4 better - I like the flush, low profile fit. I haven’t had any water issues. I think with the OEM I had water dripping in the corners occasionally.

For what it's worth, I had the MX4 on an F-150 and decided to go with the Lomax Tri-Fold on my Tundra.

    Pros:
    - The Lomax is made using solid aluminum panels. The MX4 is made from a generic sandwich of much thinner aluminum and foam. It feels thick, but the aluminum skin gouges easily.
    - The Lomax is aluminum all the way to the edge, no plastic or rubber corner pieces. The plastic corner pieces of my MX4 were always a little loose.
    - The Lomax doesn't require piping or drilling for any kind of drainage. My MX4 and my Lomax are equally water tight, so I'm guessing the whole concept of a gutter to catch the water and a pipe to drain it is a gimmick.
    - The Lomax doesn't require relocating the utility rail.

    Cons:
    - If you want the ability to prop up the cover to use the entire bed, you will need to go with the Lomax Stance, which requires you to install adhesive brackets to the top of the roof. I was unwilling stick anything to my roof, even though they swear it won't damage the paint, and they have a procedure for removal of the brackets.

I hardly ever needed to raise the MX4 all the way up, so I went with the Lomax Tri-Fold and have been very happy. Plus, the Lomax cover can be removed in about 30 seconds without tools, which then gives me full use of the bed, and then there's nothing blocking the back window.

+1 for lomax. I have trifold and taking it off if you need the whole bed is as simple as folding it back.

Loved the Backflip on our 2010. Installed it myself without too much trouble. It would get a little "sticky" now and then - one side or the other would hang when pulling down the cable to release a middle panel - so I had to readjust the mounts once in a while. It's super versatile and if you open it all the way to the back window you have a wide-open bed for all intents. Also had drains. If I ran it through a high-pressure car wash there would be a tiny bit of water in the bed but not when it rained.
