Traded my '18 Tundra in for a '21 Tundra in June. Been keeping tabs on my old truck on the dealer's website since then, out of pure curiosity. Anyone else do this?

Trade was mid-June. I'd say they got it up on the website maybe three weeks later. And as of today, it's finally gone. Took much longer than I expected.

I did this in April when I traded my 2001 Tacoma for my new 2021 Tundra. I was curious what they would try to sell mine for. They listed it at $11,000 with 208,000 miles on it. Pretty clean truck and it had the frame replaced 5 years ago. The price dropped every couple weeks until it finally sold. I can't remember what it was listed at last, but they dropped it several thousand.

They messed with the price of mine in both directions. Started at one number, lowered it a couple times, they increased it, then slowly brought it down again. Wish I'd have kept better track of it.

Did this when I traded in my GX470 for the Tundra. The GX was listed 1 day for $2.5k over trade-in and was gone.

Did it recently and for others as well. I'm just a weirdo that wants to know who has it, where it's at, and are they taking care of it the way I did. Probably not though:(

I did this on my 05 Tundra. I also have the vin number, so if it comes back up for sale at a dealership i can find it. Unless it a private party sale.

I did a few months ago when I traded my wife’s ‘20 4Runner in. Listed day 1 3k above trade in. Watched for 2 weeks drop and saw it lowered/sold 1k above trade in.

I’ve done it - reality is it doesn’t matter.

They offered a price - I accepted. They make a mint or lose their ass - I still got paid the same.

Even if it “sells” - they might take less, or might have screwed the next guy more on a trade. If it sat for 3 weeks - it may have went to auction in “normal” times with inventory turnover….some vehicles just won’t sell at certain dealers.

I followed my trade-in when I bought my truck. They paid flooring fees for 3 months and the last online "buy now" price I saw was lower than my trade-in value. Not sure what the final price was or if they unloaded it to another dealership out of the area, but it made me feel better about paying top dollar for my TRD Pro.

I only did that once when I traded in an Accord that I crashed to the tune of a $16k repair bill. It never hit the lot as I drove by it everyday from work. I was just curious about the price. Probably went straight to auction.

I ran carfaxs on all my old cars. Turns out that 3 of them were in bad accidents and were consider a total lost
