Well, the gas cap isn't plastic, but it's showing identical damage. Makes me think it could be a harsh chemical perhaps? Or maybe somebody who things Tundra stuff goes in a Taco forum just wasn't careful with a heat source?

 

Looks like both sides of the truck, though. If we're starting a pool, I'll take intentional damage looking for a new paint job.

Well... Today might not be my Friday. The coworker who is supposed to be on days starting tomorrow has called in and may not be in for the week. I'm volunteering for some of the shifts to get some sweet sweet OT, but I will miss my days off.

 

Confirmation on this. Barring the coworker recovering rapidly, I'll be picking up the next two days. With the holiday this week, I am hoping to get a fatter check to offset the bed rack I'm going to order in a week or two.

 

Based off my wage, I bet you do. It's just pre calculated.

I'm picking up a OT night on the front end of my rotation when I get back home. Good way to make a small dent in what this vacation costs.

 

Yeah, I'm trying to get rid of some debt right now, but I still want some toys too! Thus the OT. I've already volunteered for several shifts in December as well. Let's a coworker do the holidays with his family, and fattens my paycheck... until the taxes get taken out.

 

Apologies in advance if this is offensive, I'm just not one to be all hush hush about income and the like. Feel free to ignore or PM or whatever, but have you ever figured your average hours vs pay to see what you make in an hour?

Annual salary is usually a poor way to compare things, because my annual salary isn't super great until you take into account the fact that I only work half the days in a year. 12 hours on those days, but it's still nice having every other week off.

Yeah, I just preface that kind of stuff with that. Some people get weird about money. I have some friends that think it's taboo to talk about hourly rates or salaries like it's some kind of confidential thing. I think it's partially because decades ago it was considered rude, and then there are also tons of companies that tell you not to discuss it with coworkers. They worry about issues with better workers being paid better for the same job telling the slackers what they make and the slackers howling that they are being picked on.

I'm just not like that. IDC if people know what I make, but I don't say it as a brag either. I'll be the first to admit that I am very lucky to make what I do, because I have no education or special skills. I don't remember the exact to the penny, but I'm a bit over $33 an hour currently, so OT is just under $50 an hour. Benefits, 401k, and taxes all drive that down, but that's the starting point for me.

 

Went to bed 2 hours ago with music on a headset. Aaaaalmost asleep and *BATTERY VERY LOW. PLEASE CHARGE* Blasts me back to consciousness.

Not sure if it completely screwed my sleep, but it would be my luck.

Oh well. At least there's some Barney Miller episodes on the DVR.

 

I have an audio book going a lot of the time when I'm going to bed. I had this headset for a while that would say 'PLEASE CHARGING'
In a half slumber it would surprise and annoy me at the same time. "So nobody at your headset company speaks or knows a consultant who speaks english?' Dude, do you Google?" By that time I was pretty awake.

Day 8 on this stretch at work. One more to go after this. I would have thought I'd really be feeling it, but day 8 doesn't feel any different that day 7 did. Hoping number 9 follows suit. Even if it all hits me like a ton of bricks tomorrow, I don't care as long as the tax man doesn't rob me too hard for all the extra time on this check. 80 hours regular time, 28 hours OT, and 8 hours holiday pay. After taxes I think my OT should basically pay for my bed rack.

 

Halfway through the day. Probably go grab lunch before too long. Might luck out if the food truck is by the office.
