I'm guessing the idea was to find Mike Sweers in that photo?

I would highly advise if anyone ever is considering on riding Amtrak, NEVER take a trip long enough where you need to sleep in coach. The don't even offer lumbar support on their seats which only recline like 10 inches.

Probably the worst experience of my life all because I can't fly (medical reasons) and my Tundra isn't up to snuff to make the trip from Boston to Florida and back. That's my public service announcement for the day.

Not right now. Assuming you can find a car they'll kill you on the price.

Just got back from the mountains. We took my mom and stepdad on a hike. It's peak leaf change time below 3000ft. Most of the leaves are gone above that. My new job is keeping me extremely busy so I've not been able to visit here as much. Hope everyone is well.

Should. Back spacing may be an issue though. But I bet the pro wheels will fit

I had a pretty good day today.

1st, me and grill went to grab some waffle house bfast before our big adventures. Then we stopped at O'Reillys and I picked up some copper antiseize and a barrel brush for wheels. Grill got some tire treatment and a tire brush.

After that we went to the vape store to get some juice. While in there another customer asked if that was my SHO outside. We were in my gf's 15 so I said yeah, it's hers. He said he parked his SHO next to it. I figured it was another 4th gen like hers. No, it was a fucking 93. 2nd gen. We went and checked it out and geeked out a bit. He asked if what I was carrying was a sig 226. I said indeed, it is. He lifts his shirt and shows me his sig 226. Mine in .40, his in 9mm. Wtf is going on here? He had to jet and I didn't get any contact info. Oh well, till we meet again SHO brother.

Then we hit the junkyard. First thing I see when we walk in is this:

    KIMG0136.jpg

Hmm. Interesting. Anyways, I found a 1st gen mercury Sable and pulled the srs module, then we kinda wandered around. Saw some neat older cars. They had a 3000gt, a dodge raider, a lot of beetles. They didn't even charge me for the module. Nice. Srs module:

    16362388620075441194145652012756.jpg

After that we headed to harbor freight. I kinda forgot I still don't have a jack so I put buying the press off and bought a 3 ton jack. I have to work on grill's brakes later. I also picked up a compression tester cause why not. $210 later:

    KIMG0138.jpg

    KIMG0139.jpg

After that I went back home and had a little siesta. Took my comforters back to grills house to wash since she has a bugger washer. We went and grabbed some late lunch/early dinner at our favorite Mexican spot. Fried avocados for her and green chili guisado for me. Red and green hot sauce with chips to go too please. Gotta get them drunk munchies for later.

So I get back to my house while grill awaits a package and finishes washing the comforters. I replace my srs module and see what's up. Still flashes 10 on the dash. Fuck. This module is bad too.

    16362388930253816805238519110962.jpg

I'll probably just end up pulling the bulb out and leaving the module out. I moved on and tried to see why my guage lights are all retarded.

    20211030_065524.jpg

I pulled the trim panel only to find out you have to pull the ignition cylinder, column trim, then d/c the speedometer in the engine bay. Fuck that, I'm out. Grill will be here soon and we gotta do her brakes.

So grill arrives and we start her brakes. Fuck SHOs, I hate these cars. 2 piece calipers, 20" heavy ass fuck wheels, and MASSIVE brakes.

    KIMG0141.jpg

    KIMG0142.jpg

I told grill, "get a pic of these rotors for me". She took this first:

    KIMG0140.jpg

2 hours later her brakes are done and now it's time to chill the fuck out. What a day.

Is it Daylight Savings Time there today? We don't observe that out here in Mountain Time.

Yes that's today. I should get home when I clock out. Mountain time is an hour behind central? So 12:14 there?

Maybe I've got that mixed up...

well im officially searching for a wrecked ls430 or gs430 for cheap with a running engine.. (plus engine harness, alt, a/c, ETC.)

im 1300 into the red 2002 Tacoma. and i may be acquiring a wrecked 2001 with a r150f in it. this has me REALLY wanting a 3uz swapped 1st gen taco with a manual. SO assuming i get the parts truck to do it. i want the parts car to have all the major pieces.

300hp with a manual sounds like a fucking blast in a taco... and im into this one so cheap that even with a swap i'll likely be under the value of the truck pre swap.

Yes, you got it correct. And I erred when I generalized DST not being observed here. Some Navajo's do observe it since some nations are in other states. They do observe it but in small pockets of Az.

Sacked up and finally paid the big bucks to try Truff. Opportunity presented itself to try the granola competitor from Trader Joe's as well. Both are good, and noticeably different. Definitely a sweet-hot type sauce.

I probably won't buy Truff again unless it's 1/3 the price, but will say it's pretty damn good, and far better than I was expecting. 20211107_084229.jpg

Waffle House was the only restaurant I could go in the South where I felt I had to give a $2 tip on a $5 breakfast meal because $1 just wasn't enough (that was in the 90s). I actually wish they had them up North.

Don't ever say "what are grits?", otherwise you'll get a 5 minute lecture from the waitress.

If it makes you feel any better, when it was 1:03 there, it was at least 2:03 here. But yeah, what NUDRAT says is key.

I really hate DST and kinda wish we'd get rid of it. Our HQ is in PHX, it's always fun working with those guys, I like when we're only 2 hours apart, tend to get more done with them over there. Almost makes me want to move to AZ. We've talked about it.
