How can I tell if wheels & tires will fit before I buy them?

I'm installing a Toytec 3/1 lift tomorrow. Right now I have the stock 20" limited wheels with stock tiers on my 08 CM. I'm thinking about running 295/70/r18s with a 25mm offset. Ive done lots of searching on this site and others and am sorta kinda maybe aware of how they MIGHT fit but I'm still wondering. I'm hoping there is some math I can do or something that will tell me if I will have to cut anything on my truck. Is it silly to ask if a tire shop will put a set of tires on and see how they fit before I buy them?

Idk, any information will help. I really don't want to trim anything on my truck and was actually thinking of adding fender flares just so I don't spray mud all over my truck.

    Thanks for the help.

There’s no math formula that’ll definitely tell you. Mainly because not all 295/70’s are equal in size, all trucks are a little different, and it’ll also depend on where your caster numbers are at. But it’s very likely you won’t need a CMC. But will probably have to remove your mud flaps and move your inner liner forward some.

Yeah I kinda figured that. I have found sites that let you compare two different tirer sizes and it shows you how much bigger one tire might be. Aside from just doing that and just taking out a tape measure I wasn't sure if there was anything else I could do. If I take out my mud flaps and inner liner is there anything I can do to help mud and water from spraying the side of my truck/window when I drive? Do you know how "bad" it is with those things gone? What about installing fender flares, do you know if that helps at all?

Thanks for your response. I'm definitely someone who likes to see things and hold them before I buy them and this whole wheels/tires/lift thing has been the exact opposite of what I usually like to do.

That was the exact set up on my first truck. Except I had a 2.5 gen. And I had Cooper STT Pros which were MT tires and ran pretty large. I never even noticed my mud flaps were gone. But my truck was an offroad truck and it was constantly dirty. Also live in a pretty dry climate so rarely had any water spraying up from the tires. Honestly if you’re not one of those that has to have an immaculately clean truck, it shouldn’t be bad.

I live in the PNW where it rains all the time. My truck is my daily driver. I do go hunting and camping every chance I get but I wouldn't say I'm offroad ALL the time. My truck definitely doesn't have to be perfect but I would like it to look like I sorta give a shit. I had a set of BF K02s on my last truck so I wanted to get them again I just wanted a little bigger. Not sure what my point is I guess I'm just saying.
