Has anyone had there sub work intermittently? The JBL premium sound is already bad but without the sub working it's really bad. Every once in a while it will kick on out of the blue. Checked connections and fuses in engine compartment. Just seeing if anyone has had the issue and figured it out. New system will be going in but until then would like some bass back. Thanks.

Yeah that's my plan too just seeing if anyone had info on the stock garbage. Eventually I think I'm going to upgrade the stock HU with the phoenix tesla style unit. I've tried searching for anything about the sub online and nada. ‍♂️

Put a volt meter on the terminals of the sub box and play music. If you are getting voltage, it's your sub, if you aren't getting anything it's the amp.

Get ahold of James at tech12volt. He's got a good deal on a jbl 5 channel amp right now that will really help pump some life into your system.

Any resolution to this? I just picked up my 2021 Tundra TRD Pro and I swear that NO bass is coming out of that subwoofer. I can place my hand on the sub and feel it barely vibrating, but very very little bass if any. Is this a normal problem? Or does it really just suck?

If it's got the JBL system, yes, it's universally understood that the stock JBL system blows. LOL

If you have an iPhone try to connect using your aux cable and play something through Apple Music. For me this made a HUGE difference. I didn’t hear a sub until I played from here, I think it has something to do with the audio source.

Kelvis I don’t think ppl are reading what you’re saying, but I understand cuz I feel the exact same thing. Every now and again when I start up the truck and play tunes I notice it’s nowhere near as bass-y as it was the day before. Big difference and it sounds like you’re trying to get bass out of at most a pair of 6x9s right? Well I’ve never figured it out, but once (only once) did I find that the equalizer was reset to everything right in the middle at the “0” setting. Haven’t seen that any other time but now I know to look for it. But I highly suspect that was coincidence. I don’t disconnect power and therefore don’t know why it would reset. If I ever find out the problem I’ll jump for joy cuz it really messes with me

It's bad. Really bad. If you value music at all, then you're looking at full replacement.

I learned that you have to set the EQ for each mode, so if you play through the cord, and then through bluetooth, and then through CarPlay; you need to set the EQ on each mode.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. It doesn't even seem like my TUNDRA TRD PRO has a subwoofer at all! This just cannot be the case. It has to make more bass....well more than not having one I would hope

I can honestly say that I was not that impressed with the JBL system when I first got my 2021 TRD pro. I feel like over the last nine months it sounds quite a bit better. Almost like there was a break in period. I did however get a hold of James at Tech12volts and I purchased a sub that is compatible with the existing amp. It was plug and play. Made a big difference for the low end bass.
