TRD Sway bars on a TRD Pro?

I have a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax in Lunar Rock. I love the look of the red TRD sway bars and I don't do any crazy offroading. Since the TRD Pro's don't come with these sway bars stock, would it look bad/weird to put them on a TRD Pro?

 

Not at all - I'm contemplating doing the upgrade myself. I hear good things about these bars.

 

I put one on my truck on Friday. Maybe took 30-45 minutes. Corners that I had to previously slow down and go 45 mph to feel comfortable, I can take at 60 now. Truck stays flat and planted in the curves, well worth it!

To me it was worth every dime. I put the front and rear on. One of the best mods I've done so far.

Is there a big difference on the front non-TRD sway bar, that comes stock on the Pro, compared to the TRD Pro front sway?

 

The trd red front sway bar is thicker and stiffer than the oem black one. Some have found it way too stiff.

Stiff in terms of adversely affecting articulation?

Regarding the rear sway, with light trail use, is it a hindrance in terms of articulation? In what use case does the rear sway become a hindrance, rock crawling? Moab type stuff?

I did both front and rear TRD sway bars on my SR5. I swapped the front out first and drove around a few blocks, didn’t notice any difference. Then added the rear TRD bar, big difference. Yes, it would have been cheaper to remove and paint the original front bar red. But, it’s on there now and I knew I wouldn’t like one black and one red.

 

One the most noticeable and instant changed OEM add ons that one can do to their Tundra!!! Trucks corner like a dream and one can stay in their seat while cornering, wife says “hey I don’t have to grab anything when you corner”” and one doesn’t have to corner like a race car to notice!!!!

 

I see a few options other than OEM on ebay. Is there anyone who installed an aftermarket and is satisfied with it; works well, no missing hardware, etc? I'm wondering whether it's wise to save $50 - $60 by getting an aftermarket.

There is the hellwig option. It has 3 different settings to adjust the stiffness preference. It has good reviews

 

Does any body make some sort of a quick disconnect for sway bars ?

 

I put the front TRD sway bar, noticed slightly better handling in fast freeway corners. I heard the rear swaybar is what makes the real difference.

I got it during the sales event for just under 150.
Easy install, took me about 45mins, torque everything down to spec.

 

If you’re interested in the rear I have one I put in my 21 LR TRD Pro for like 50 miles. I loved the handling increase but to me I could feel the suspension stiffen a little so I took it off. It’s in great condition

I have a 2019 TRD Pro. I put the RSB on my 2019. I like the Rear. I had the Front and Rear on my 2016 Tundra CM before I traded it on my 2019. Honestly, I think the RSB is a Must if you don't Off Road. I'm debating on getting the Front Sway bar. The Front Sway Bar is a Little More "Bouncee" than the OEM FSB. I say get the Rear Bar and Leave the Front Stock. I think that's a Good Compromise. However, both Being Red does look good. Lol

 

I have front and rear trd sways, its a nice mod, front was special for only like $120





And I still can do this.

 

I love mine, it made a huge difference in handling curves at highway speed.

 

I had just the rear on my 2010 crewmax & have both on my 2013 Sequoia. Love it on both, world of difference.

I believe the stock & TRD are the same size, the difference I was told is the TRD is solid, OEM is hollow.

 

I don't go off road so I put the front and rears on. Its a big difference in handling and didn't affect the ride quality. Worth the upgrade.

 

Nice! I'm guessing you purchased the sway a while back? Cheapest I've seen the front TRD is $173.60 at McGeorge.

I just may have to do the F&R TRD sways...this dang forum is making me bankrupt. =)

 

I got my front in July for 172.85 and the rear in August for 136.84. The front came from Norm Reeves, San Diego and is Tundra & Sequoia but the rear came from Camelback Toyota in Phoneix and I picked it up it is Sequoia only (but they were the same price)

 

I've seen the rear costing more than the front. I presume due to more HW on the rear setup. Does the front use existing bracket and new bushing?
