So, ive been holding off saying anything about a booboo that happened to my Tundra about a month ago because ive just been so down about it. There are definitely more important things in life but damn it sucks when shit happens.

Anyways, as I was taking my son to his 18 month check up, all the outside parking spots were taken so I peeked at the parking garage signs and it said the height limit was 6'8" so I measured my truck before heading in and I was right at 6'6" with my Thule roof racks. I carefully did a loop around the first level of the parking garage and all was good. Then.... it happened....I started making my way up to the next level and as im slowly going up I hear a clunk from the roof and I knew something got messed up.

Thankfully, I was driving slow and stopped/reversed as soon as I heard the sound. The rear roof rack on my cab had hit the upper parking garage beam and in the process was pushed slightly into the outer edge of the roof. Thankfully it was only dented on one side and YES I know and realize it could have been much much worse.

I took pictures and have a dash cam. The hospital never got back to me and wont do anything about correcting their parking garage sign either. My insurance said they would only step in if I paid my deductible but my premiums would likely go up and it would cause a hit on the truck's record. I called about 10 PDR shops locally and half of them said they couldnt do it and to call a different shop or go to a body shop. A handful of PDR specialists said it would be over a grand because they would have to pull down the headliner and possibly make some holes which would later require a body shop to fill them in.

A guy from a local Tundra group recommended me to a specific PDR guy who worked miracles on his truck and I mean the pictures he showed me were jaw dropping and unbelievable. It took about a month for my apt to happen but today was the day and it only took about 2 hours. I ran my fingers through the area and its as if nothing ever happened. I only paid about half of what my insurance deductible would have been but best part is I am a happy Tundra owner again (I mean I was always happy but now I just have that swagger back).

People treat their trucks so much nicer than I treat mine. I'll never taste that sweet these value everyone is clamoring over.

The PDR guy must have used a time machine. Looks perfect in the pictures.
