    6" lift, bumper and winch.
    This is the first truck I've had with a 6 in lift. Looking for a compact jack that stores easily and is stable enough to use off road.
    Any ideas ?

    A massive bottle jack might be the most compact solution aside from a hi-lift type jack.

    Agreed. I use a big bottle jack for everything when on the trail. Floor jack when at home. I have a 60" hilift that I have never used lol

    You probably would run out of jack before suspension anyway Alex...I can relate.

    I use a 4x4 block of wood and HF bottle jack.

    Yeah I do. But lately I have been jacking from the control arm since its so long. Just use a block of wood to cushion the arm. This saves me from have to jack, block, and jack some more lol. The rear isn't a big deal as I jack from the axle.

    But if I'm in a bind on the trail, I now have hilift point on all four sides of the truck now. Its just never been needed

    I have to strap the axle to the frame if I'm gonna use a HL Jack. I assume you probably have to do the same, especially in the rear?

    Not sure, I haven't jacked from the side. From the center rear, with a 60" jack, I can get the wheels off the ground. Its sketchy AF though. Now that you are making think about it, I probably do have to strap for a side lift. The rear has 17" travel and maybe 90% usable articulation. the front is 16" with maybe 80%. I might run out of jack before the wheels lift. I should test this

    On a 60" HL Jack, you may be ok.....but then you get into the jack lean, and sometimes that gets sketchy. You have more travel than I do and a 48" jack is worthless unless the axle is ratchet strapped.

    I found out the hard way on a trail many moons ago, figured I would pass down my dumb ass learning curve. The desert can be really unforgiving.

    I used my 48" Hi-Lift just fine on the trail (soft sand) to swap out a rear tire. That's with 37s on a 7" lift, too. Had no issues nor worry with the jack; that was jacking from the sliders.

    Yeah dude thanks. I never really thought about it until you mentioned something. like I said, I jacked from the rear and I was able to lift the wheels, but jack lean sucked and I use a lot of my jack length to get it done. Next time I'm at camp I'll play with it and see what happens.

    Its a different story when you have MT leafs and control arms. You're not working with the same amount of suspension travel that I am or a jeep with a lot of flex. On my rear, 17" travel with maybe 90% usable articulation means that there can be roughly a 30" difference in suspension height between left and right tires. I would have to actually attempt it to see how much jack length would be required to lift a tire, but it's going to be a lot. Probably doable as long as the jack doesn't lean too much. Definitely not going to work with a 48" jack.

    Cool Alex. Let us know what you come up with. The ol' jack lean has earned me some dents in my body panels, that is for sure. Kinda sucks the way HL Jacks need to be set up at times. I would rather take a dent vs the alternative.

    2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
    @gladecreekwy ,some good advice here.
    I'm always carrying the big bottle jack and hi-lift also. Usually have a packing blanket (primarily to toss on the winch cable) to prevent body panel damage from the jack lean. In the winter if I'm expecting I may need to chain up I'll throw in my light weight floor jack.
    Too much is better than too little.
    I'm not lifted as much as you all, but the problem still comes up.

    Ive got a 7" lift. Jacking the truck up to change a tire has been on my mind. Just bought this truck and don't know if the stock jack will get it off of the ground. This and a chunk of 6x6 timber and a chunk of 2x6 (to cushion between front end) will have to go in the truck some place. Description says 21" of lift. Will look further into all of this.

    They also have this same jack at Tractor Supply. Shows to be an in stock item that you can walk in and buy. $40.00

    That is for the complete jack. It comes with the small 8" extension. However the extensions are sold separately but I cannot guarantee any fitment on other than the 1.5 and 2 ton harbor freight aluminum jacks.

    I use the pro eagle extension on a harbor freight 2.5 ton. I used a 1 1/8" hole saw to cut a hole in it and replace the existing pad. The twist mount feature was sketchy.
