I'm talking about the front bumper of course. Anyone ever see this or do it? I kind of want to give it a shot. Just seems like it would hold up better than the plastic bumper cover on the snowmobile trails to my cabin. Not really into putting a real beefy bumper on it but don't like the plastic.

And if anyone has a take-off metal bumper nearish to New York let me know and I'll put it to use plus post pictures for everyone's amusement. Most of the ones I've seen on car-part don't look very good (dents and rust).

Not a double cab, but others have done it for their 03s-05s regular and access cabs. I don't see how that would be any different. I believe you need to change out the reinforcement bumper underneath for it to work.

I would paint the back of the bumper with a rust encapsulator like POR-15 or chassis saver to make it last. Mine has and I've done it over 9 years ago.

I did read a few of those threads and so I think that it'll work! Oh you better believe I will be using some rust protection. I got the truck this summer and it has a frame that is about 6 years old but some rust issues where the side steps attach. Literally good bones and besides that a northeast truck. Fluid Film happening in the next couple of weeks to keep it that way. Low-key looking for a cab swap too (got some flesh wounds where the side steps attach) but I have some years to figure that out.
