I'm wondering which is longer and wider between the 2005 crew cab vs 2008 double cab. I searched online and it looks like the 2005 and 2008 have similar length. However, the 2008 looks a lot bigger. Does the 2008 look bigger because of its look design only?

I believe the width is like 3-4 inch more on the 2008 which can make a difference pulling into some modern day garages at least where I live here in the Northeast. I can't comment on the length.

I just measured my 2005 double cab and the 2020 crew cab. My 2005 is longer and wider than the 2020 by 4". I'm surprised.

I know that I toyed with the idea of using my 1st gen cap on a 3rd gen bed and was surprised that the length and width were really not at odds at all but the newer truck bed was a lot deeper too.

I also know that the 2nd gen cab feels more roomy than the 1st gen cab regardless of how the measure?
