Changed the oil today, sucked out the power steering reservoir and refilled (I do this every 4-6 months) drained a little over a gallon of coolant out of the radiator and refilled, lubed the drive shafts front and rear, and cleaned the throttlebody and mass airflow sensor.

I made a post over a month ago when I did front and rear brake pads and flushed the brake fluid. Next weekend, rotate the tires and give it a bath. I’m at 39,409 miles. I did the differentials at around 12,000 I think, and the transfer case was done at about 22,000 miles. When I hit 60,000 miles I will probably do the diffs again along with the transfer case and transmission fluid. I will probably let my favorite trustworthy mechanic take care of the transmission for me. I’m sure I can do it but fuck that LOL

Also cleaned up the engine bay for the first time. Just hit it with some awesome and paint brush to scrub. Used a flat blade spray on my garden hose nozzle attachment. Then douched it with some WD and took it for a drive to dry it off. Looks pretty nice. I’ll take pics once it has a bath next weekend.

i was tinkering in the garage last night and right before shutting down for the night, I saw the color really pop the way the driveway light lit the truck.

Checked the torque on my spacers for peace of mind. All were still tight at 97ftlb.

Going to need to take a look at the floor jack though, it's a 3 ton my neighbor gave us when he moved. It's been fine and I've used it before, but seemed to not go as high as I remembered. I needed a wood block to get enough height to get the fronts off the ground.

Not a claims expert. But your Illinois policy is portable into other states as far as you bring insured. So you go into another state that has different rules. You have a crash with another states citizen with that states version of a policy, which coverages would apply or prevail I don’t know. But you still have a policy. An experienced Auto Claims rep could tell you. Hope that makes sense.

I've never seen anyone do something like that before. Very cool.

    Questions:
    1. Is it also motorized for closing?
    2. Can you open and close it manually without messing up the automatic system?
    3. Is there any kind of safety measure for closure in case something were in the way? Things like a beverage on the bed rail, or more importantly, somebody's hand.

Closes with 3 press of lock button on remote within 4 seconds.
Manual up/down toggle switch internal in case I don’t want to use remote.
No it keeps driving but it’s not that quick that it will cause any issues.

Check out @Yzed608 's signature. Not saying everyone should should just go be a copycat, but a good idea is a good idea, and that pic would definitely work there.

They are all really easy to do, but the cost of fluid can jack the price up, especially if they use Toyota fluid for the transfer case. I’d probably be happy at 300 bucks. But good luck LOL I’ve got all the fluid on deck ready to go for when the time comes and also a couple of crush washers for the differentials. But they may not be necessary. I’m sure the cost of fluid has gone up recently.

Just had mine done 2 weeks ago by Toyota of Plano (TX). ~$200 for labor and ~$100 for fluid.

Wasn’t 20 buck bargain like @EatSleepTacos but was able to do a dope deal for the steps along with some 2021 OE Bilstein rear shocks. 30 minute drive to swap a full colt magazine of Federal AE 55gr 5.56 sounds good to me. So I was spot on! And you found someone that sounds honest enough. As long as you got the right fluid I think that’s a good deal.
