So I've tried doing a little searching around and can't seem to find my exact situation (if someone has a thread on this already, please link me to it).

I installed the Alpharex Pro Series LED tail lights first, then today, installed the Morimoto XB LED headlights. If I try to use the sequential turn signal setting, I get hyper flash. Regular flash turn signal is OK. I've read that Morimoto states that if LEDs are used elsewhere (tail lights) then it will cause hyper flash. I know about adding resistors but not sure where they would go on the taillights since I'm pretty sure they already have some kind of resistor installed from Alpharex since they're LED to begin with. Anyone have any suggestions as to what to do or if the solution is resistors, where to attach them?

I've included a picture of the back side of the tail lights for any electrical experts out there that might point me in the right direction.ATL-TUN07-W-LBS_5-scaled.jpg

1.) Witch light headlights or tail lights have the sequential turn lights in them?
2.) Are every single turn signal light front/rear/or sides LED?
3.) is it just turn signal hyper flash your having a issue with?

Just the headlights have the sequential turn signals. By connecting or disconnecting a supplied wire it changes them from sequential to solid flash turn signal, which it currently is since that doesn’t hyper flash. I could keep that but the sequential looks nice so I’d like to get that to work.

Everything except reverse lights are built in LEDs

Yes, just sequential turn signal option on headlights hyper flash.

I have a set of plug-and-play resistors for the taillights coming in today, I’ll update after install if that fixes anything.

I had the same issue. Installed the Morimotos first, no problems. When I later added the Alpharex, everything went to hyperflash. Added resistors in the rear and everything went back to normal. Easy fix.

Awesome, hopefully when the resistors come today it will take care of it. Love the way the sequential turns look and want to be able to use them.

If it helps, here’s where I mounted my resistors and how they are wired in. Ignore the yellow wire coming off the one plug - that’s where I pulled the signal for my OPT7 side turn signals. 2042CA58-513D-4FC6-942D-56BC7AB7DD77.jpg

Thanks TravisJr , that's exactly what I needed. I messed around with the "plug and play" style resistors today but the plugs don't fit our taillights very well so I'll just cut them off and hardwire it like you did. It did work when I managed to hold the plugs in place so yes, resistors on the taillights are, in fact, the solution to Morimoto XB sequential turn headlights and Alpharex LED taillights for those in the future with this problem

Went to my buddy's house to put my lights in. Did not have access to this forum page. Hooked mine up today and there was not a hyper flash. But my headlight turn signals are solid. So looks like I need to go back and hook up the wire to make the sequential and add a resistor. I kept wondering why they worked.

I installed my xb headlights and for some reason when my
Light switch is off 1 running light works.
Light switch set to running light both running lights work.
Light switch set to ON they both running lights work.
Light switch set to AUTO only 1 running light works.
Sequential turn works on both at all times.
The only one that works all the time is the passenger and I've checked fuses with no luck.

I have the same combo. Alpharex pro taillights and morimoto headlights. Got hyperflash after installing the taillights. I called alpharex and they sent me resistors free. No problems since adding resistors. Just an fyi for anyone that sees this in the future

Hey 2nd Gen guys with Alpharex tail lights, can i get some help from you?

Can you post photos of the fitment of your Alpharex Tail Lights?

I received mine today and went to install them. They have horrible gaps which can’t be adjusted and the factory tails don’t have that issue.

Im wondering if I got a bad batch/mold?

You can literally see between the tail light and my truck and see the sheet metal behind everything.

I thought tightening up the screws would help, but it does not.

SouthWestGA, Here’s how mine look, about the same around the outside as yours but when I have the tailgate down, I feel like mine look a little tighter to the body of the truck, I don’t see as much of a gapAB44592B-5D53-428F-95CB-F62EFE68BB5B.jpgF9650EDE-0D91-4DD1-9E4D-927476C7F9C7.jpg ABA95C41-00F2-4BAE-A218-BAD6218725AB.jpg

    @Quiksilver85

Thank you for the response and the photos.

Yours seem tighter fit than mine.

I’ll ask for a swap and try them out again and see what happens. Worst case is return them and stay with stock lights

I contacted Headlight Revolution who then reached out to Alpharex directly

It was told to me that Alpharex considers the large gaps and fitment issues as “normal”

Clearly Alpharex has lost their mind, since factory tail lights don’t do that lol.

Below is a quoted reply from Headlight Revolution

If you would like to return this set, there would be a 15% restocking fee charged, per Alpharex's policy. This would be true for either your 1st, or 2nd set.

I would not recommend purchasing another set, since they are all identical and made from the same molds. There's virtually zero chance of any fitment issue changing.

So there you have it folks

Get a sub par product, the manufacturer doesn’t care, and you get stuck with a RE stock fee

I have a 2018 Ram 1500, I bought aftermarket Alpharex headlights and aftermarket Morimoto taillights. I started having hyper flash issues, the blinkers would not work, it would not do the start-up light dance, it would say parking light out, blinkers out. The Morimoto taillights worked great except for one issue, I ordered the reverse light flood bar, and it ties in with the reverse light wiring, when i tapped into the wiring and had them both plugged in they would flash between the two uncontrollably. I did research and it turns out these newer vehicles are all computerized, you need to ask permission to make any changes. You can either go to the dealer and have them make the changes for your or you can do it yourself by hacking your vehicles ECU in a way. I had to buy an OBD blue tooth device, an ECRI security bypass module, and the ALFA-OBD software to re write the programs. The lights are working perfectly now, no codes! I made a video for anyone wanting to check out the method. I made a mistake so learn from me, upload your settings to google drive before making any changes that way you have it as reference if you mess any setting up. I accidentally delelted my SiriusXM button off my radio and dont know what setting I pressed to make it go away. Check out my video, hope it helps! If you can help me with my radio issue please reply.
