Canadian here thinking of maybe purchasing my 22 from a US dealer since I want army green and that color is not available in Canada. Does my warranty transfer to Canada? Has anyone here done this? Just trying to figure out if there are any hurdles I need to think about?

yeah i dont think the warranty xfers to .ca

in .ca the warrantor for these limited warranties is Toyota Canada Inc. so they wont honor the usa warranty since its under the toyota usa warrantor.

the extended warranty is completely different, in the usa its called "VSA" and in .ca its called "ECP"

I don’t know why we won’t get army green in Canada. Makes no sense…

I think toyota did a great job of hyping this truck up for weeks/months but with all the waiting and lack of details it's starting to get old IMO. I am hoping to get a hybrid when they do come out but also excited to see the GMC reveal tomorrow. Wonder once revealed tomorrow if you can go online and configure the truck or if they will drag it out like toyota has.

I thought the reveal tomorrow was only for the denali ultimate, all the other 2022 trucks seem to be on their website already?

Ill check out the reveal but not in for a 70k+ truck .

I don't remember hearing anything that explained the title. Maybe I missed it. It is a decent video though explaining some of the stuff on the new truck though.

yes it is, thats really going to be a problem for the standard garage owner.

I pulled my current tundra in all the way to the front wall last night and even bumped it super soft, went behind the truck with the garage closed and said "PHUCK"

its not going to fit, Im really disappointed. 5" is a lot.

I was still on the fence out the v6 TT but wanted to test drive, now I'm starting to wonder if I would even like the view out of the front is even ok, that hood has to be really long. I think the guys from TFL commented on that during the test drive saying wow the view over the hood is really long like an old Lincoln or something.

When is the best opportunity to find this out? The only way I can think of is TFL on the Ike Gauntlet and that's probably not till the end of the year?

Unfortunately Canadians can’t buy new American vehicles. The US dealer can’t sell to you if you don’t have a US address. They do this to protect Canadian dealerships. Years ago you could buy in the US and Canadians were driving across to buy their vehicles. Dealers in Canada complained to corporate so it was decided that you needed a US address to purchase a vehicle. Strangely though the further south you go the less likely the dealer is aware of this so it may be possible. I live just north on Minnesota and the dealers there are very aware not to sell to Canadians but when I head to Florida no one’s seems to know or care. As far as the warranty check with Toyota Canada. At the dealership we have done warranty work on American vehicles owned by Americans.

I would like to present a slightly different view point. The experience with the F150 line is the 2.7 doesn't quite get its MPG numbers and the 5.0 V8 gets better than its rating. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=f150+v8+vs+2.7+tfltruck&t=brave&iax=videos&ia=videos&iai=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgi01ednxXM is a tfltruck test of the two engines. The 5.0 V8 got almost 1 mpg better than the 2.7 towing the same load around the same 66 mile road course. The turbo charged V6 engines have a history of better mileage when unloaded and the turbo usage is low because they look like a 3.5 V6. But when you start towing and use the turbo to the max then you start looking like a 6.0+ displacement V8 and the MPG will get cut in two. So a 20 MPG unloaded truck is a 10 MPG heavy towing truck.

The bottom line is that the 3.5 turbo is a better, more economical, daily driver. For towing it is better because it has more torque at a lower rpm. So if you tow a lot you will definitely like the 3.5 more. However, don't expect your mpg to improve towing. If anything, it will drop slightly.

I just measured and I can make it fit. My garage is 278" wall to door which is plenty, but I have a 3' work bench on the far wall, which leaves me right about 235". The idea of parking it outside is a painful option as I, like many, don't want to have to worry about break-ins or leaving it out in the weather year 'round.

Just measured mine last night and I've got 8" to spare with my current truck, so should have 3" with new truck... Now how to make it fit with the dealer installed 3" lift and 35s.

Either that or when some of the trucks get out on the road and people start using them. I am pretty sure by next summer we will have a pretty good idea how it shapes up as a truck. Even with the delay of the hybrid there should be enough of them on the road towing by the summer to get a pretty clear idea.

The TFL test will help as well. Even if I was 100% set on this truck, I wouldn't be the first in line to buy it. Toyota has growing pains with new models just like everyone else and I am not fond of being the guinea pig and finding all the weaknesses...lol

So going through the past three pages I will say I am skeptical about the 3.5 TT in the toyota getting better Fuel economy towing than a V8 right now. Towing with a 3.5 Ecoboost netted me 2-3 mpg less than my Tundras 5.7L towing the same load. Unloaded though the Ecoboost got one or two more. As for Garage space I have an important vehicle in there already and everything else sits outside so that isn't an issue for me.

Yeah, Ford and GM seem to be know that a big NA OHV V8 is still the most fuel efficient gas engine for hauling and towing.

Im trying to figure out that very thing right now, this whole thing has me thrown for a loop at the moment.

it looks like all the others are a couple inches shorter. I think the AT4 will fit, Ram would be tighter, and the Ford Im trying to figure out right now.

I never would have thought in a million years Toyota would make the new tundra 5" longer.

Im trying to compare all the CC short bed 4x4s

Don't blame you if you can't fit it in your garage... I would probably look into a 2021 to get the last of the Toyota V8, plus you could just swap your mods.

I think your right, thats why those guys from TFL made those comments about the super long hood. I was kinda scratching my head at that comment but shit now I get it, its way longer now and that's also why the approach angle is worse now too I would guess.
