    I understand totally.

for me, if it doesn't fit in the garage, the sky is falling, lol. Northern Illinois winters SUCK, and at my stage of the game, there is no way Im going back to parking outside and scraping ice and freezing my nuts off etc. If that means I cant have another tundra, then oh well, I cant move so I can buy a phuckin tundra because they wanted to make the nose 4 miles long and add 5 phuckin inches to the truck which is totally useless space, at least do something with the 5 inches for phuck sakes.

    ya bitter at teh moment.

I would have to put like some kinda of soft rubber on the front wall or something, I don't know, around .5 inch or something is totally not practical on a daily basis.

I love the way the AT4 looks anyway and then I could have the 6.2 V8 Borla that I want anyway.

    WTF Sweers?

as much as it sucks, 20' is a very very standard garage size, thats why they are all sized around that, but they pushed it way too far now

But don't listen to us. We're just those bitter '21 Tundra purchasers that fully regret our decision so the only way we can cope and direct our internal frustration is to put down the flawless 22 Tundra.

AT4 is going to sell hard soon with that updated interior. I think they fixed the lifter supplier issue so that shouldn't be a concern and with the new interior it's probably going to be pretty good. But with the old ass interior they were selling above MSRP. The new one will prob be hard to get.

well right now Im a bitter 2016 owner, LOL.

I had no idea this thing was 5 inches longer, and 5 useless inches at that longer.

test drive should be interesting, lol. come back with the huge grill knocked off, "well sorry, I was trying to fit the truck in a STANDARD garage"

Good to know. I saw a video looking in from the side door and it seemed like it was almost as high as the seat. Maybe a preproduction variance.

    Why did I say something?

    If not me then who?

I have a daughter and she deserves better than to have her father be complicit in that kind of thinking. Moreover, the little grade schooler is an excellent mechanic.

If there’s anything I ever learned from managing people it’s that If you don’t correct bad behavior/thinking then you are quietly condoning it. Worse yet, that behavior will continue to get worse until it is corrected.

As for sexism or racism, for that matter, being “an opinion”: There is a vast difference between an opinion, such as not liking Cavalry Blue, and thinking another race, color, creed or sex, is beneath you or “lesser” in some way. One is an opinion, one is cancerous corrupt way of thinking that ought not be tolerated. If everyone stopped tolerating that kind of nonsense, instead of “enabling by ignoring” it maybe there wouldn’t be a need for what you referred to as “virtue signaling”.

Also, when I was young, standing up for people, who may or may not be present, was called “having a spine”. When did that become “virtue signaling”?

“All that is required for evil to succeed to is for good men to do nothing”

lol you folks kill me with winter time issues. we would love to put our current 18 platinum in the garage but only thing that fits was the 16 tacoma sport. i expressly noted to the wife that the 18 tundra would NOT fit in the garage and she was ok with that since it was a trade off to the + side compared to the tacoma. we have dealt with it the past 4 yrs and its not that much of an issue except when its -20F outside but then again all we have to do is clear the snow and she is on her way in the mornings since we have a remote start and runs it about 10mins prior to leaving for work. thats when our mpg per tank really goes to crap and we avg around 7-9 mpg during the winters months.

but the people complaining about putting it inside a garage, how does that work when you get to work? i bet most you dont have access to a parking garage to park it at work either so its a mute point anyway since you have to clean it when you get off work. we just have to do it twice a day.

and we are in our early 50's but its just part of life up here in the northern tier.

I park outside at home, but am often downtown for work and parking underground. F150 currently and look for 6'5" min clearance. Also getting another 5.5 bed because the length is a problem in tight parking, which is a situation Im forced into much more often than carrying a full bed.

good example of parking at work.... cause up here in ND the wind is what kills you blowing the snow around more so than the actual snow fall.

all of that just reinforces, "if it doesn't fit, you must aqcuit" , lol.

simply a 0 chance I ever buy something that wont fit in my garage, I had my time with all that and I am done with it

with a remote start we rarely use the scrapper part, we use long snow brooms to move the snow off the truck and let the remote start warm up the inside with defrost to clear the ice

meh good exercise with the right tools. trust me i put in the least amount of manual labor i can, i am a computer nut (nerd) at heart so i exemplify the puny profile. all in all we actually dont spend a lot of time with the snow on the vehicles, i just shove the snow onto the ground and clean it up with the snow blower later or days later if i am really lazy.

good ariens snow blower and light metal shovel to scrape the minute layer of snow on the driveway after using the snow blower and i am done in under an hour with that pic from before to this.....

That would be a deal breaker for me too. Keeping it in the garage keeps the truck so much nicer, safer from theft. Thankfully I have about a foot of clearance with my current truck. I just wish the damn builders would put a decent size garage on a house. We have a three car garage and with my Tundra, my wife's Lexus NX and my daughter's toys, there is no way in hell it is a three car garage.

trust me, the wife was not to happy the tundra didnt fit to the point of getting a new house. yeah told her thats not happening in this lifetime or marriage. we are in our last house. she has contemplated moving back down to a tacoma but i told her, she will hate the crampness of the tacoma, the whole reason we moved to a tundra.

we (read me mostly) dont mind the parking the tundra outside (my 4runner fits inside the garage, her tundra doesnt) since i mostly clean off her truck before i leave for work at 5am and she doesnt go to work until 630am. all she had to do is remote start it and let it warm up and she just gets in an goes. bad part is if it snows while at work, then she has to clean it herself. same goes for me while at work, but then when i get home i have to knock all the crap out of the wheel wells so the junk doesnt melt off and fall in the garage.

i see it as a small compromise for having the tundra with the benefits out weighing the cons.

    I get it.

for me the benefit of owning a tundra is not more than parking in the garage, but again, thats just me. A new Ram or AT4 will be nice as well, one upside is I can still get a large v8 that way.

what a bummer though. I'll have to see on a test drive or something or think if I can put something on the front wall or soemthing but its not looking good.

I never would have thought they would make the short bed 5" longer, that never even crossed my mind

yeah we have a 3 car garage technically (and you can fit a 4runner, tacoma and rav4 in it if you have no shelving on the sides. otherwise its just 2 vehicles at most with work bench and tool chest on one side and garden shelves on the other side.

theft i am not to much concerned since i run floodlights D2D and camera's at front door and on both sides of the garage doors. i pretty much light up both sides of my house and the houses across the street (good thing we have great friendly neighbors that i snow blow their driveways during winter)

I rarely park in the garage, mainly because it gets cold enough here that the garage door will freeze shut. Remote start, a Milwaukee blower and a snow brush. No biggie.

I ran the math, 12mpg average for my tundra, new tundra at 20 combined 20k a year- $5,833 vs $3,500, so $2,333 a year in normal driving conditions.

    So...So far

    Smaller shallower bed
    Lower ground clearance
    Slower 0-60
    Smaller cab
    Longer overall truck
    less approach and departure
    less interior storage
    more expensive
    but more fuel mileage....

I'm probably off on a few, but that is what I have gathered from the jumble of data floating around.
