    Hello everyone,
My 04 Tundra 4.7 100K miles has always wanted dual exhaust, would love to have it, but is it worth it just because its cool? will I receive much benefit? any power or MPG improvement? any thoughts or advice would be appreciated, Thanks, Doug

I really like the TRD dual system on my truck, some hate the sound others love it. Dirty Deeds is the system of choice here but it's all subjective to what you want. The TRD system it is said, knocks out some low end torque but I love the looks and the sound so I am prepared to sacrifice a little, besides there is always BEAST mode. They tell me Dirty Deeds has a system that is optimally tuned for the Tundra and there is a deal on them right now. Did I say I love my TRD system.

Gen 1 vs. Gen 3...regardless OP, you will lose a little low end grunt for more free breathing up top and at cruising speeds...if you really want to notice improvements your butt won't deny, look into long tube headers...you'll gain up to 30 hp and 50-70 ft/lbs of torque...there's also the 12-hole injector upgrade...at 100k, it's time to treat her :transformer:

Agree LTs are a glorious addition

12 hole injectors though, haven't seen that thread yet. That specific to 4.7 only ?

    Question for y'all,
So if you do decide to replace the TRD Pro exhaust with the Dirty Deeds dual set up and their headers they offer on their site......do you also have to take it to a shop to dyno and or tune it, flash the cpu, etc...etc...? Will it run fine without throwing codes if you don't?

Thanks for any intel you can provide.

As long as you have cats on the new setup close to where they are on the OEM setup, you will be good without codes...however, in order to maximize everything added to make the motor especially happy, tuning is always the best...stock ECY will think it's still stock...talk to Kieth with DirtyDeeds...he's done it all and has true experience on his own trucks or varying generations...

Have you ridden in a truck with decent dual rumblers, I mean, exhaust, for an extended period of time? If not, I suggest doing so if you can and see how you like it.

My brother had some serious rumblers on his '07. People in the cab had to shout to talk to each other. He ended up having them taken off and replaced with something quieter.

I have the stock TDR Pro dual exhaust on my '15. I like the sounds. Not too much, but still sounds like good exhaust. Initially I thought it was too much, but I've grown to like it.

    Hello,
I would call Keith Carty of Dirty Deeds Industries and pick his brain. No one knows Tundra's like Keith does. He is out of the office most days, but is always available via phone. You can call or text him anytime at 760-877-4234. He does take many calls and texts a day, but is very good at getting back to everyone.

    Thanks, Shawna, DDI

I went with the MBRP dual exhaust, love the angled pipes out of each side vs straight on the TRD. And nearly half the price. Seems like a copy cat design

Duals is only worth it if running long tube headers. With stock manifolds you’re paying for a second pipe that loses low end torque and doesn’t gain anymore power than a proper built single exhaust. Give a call for details. We have very affordable options. Or a full race set up.

There’s no longer a TRD system for first gen. Duals with long tube headers gains 30hp and 30tq to the rear wheels over stock.

An 04 gains 30hp and 30tq to the rear wheels over stock with long tube headers and a proper dual exhaust. Our 12 hole injectors gains a little low end torque and throttle response and make the truck way more fun to drive!!

07+ already has 12 hole injectors. But we have injectors made for 00-06 that are very affordable and work really well!!

Tuning is not a requirement. But it’s a want. The ecu will adjust afr perfectly. And there’s ways to keep the check engine light off with and without using catalytic converters.

Is this the 3” race exhaust or standard 2.5”? Wondering if it’s worth it to pay the extra money for the 3” system

Zoom in on the hangers and welds. That’s not a DirtyDeeds system. Also, the Helmholtz resonators being where they are in relation to the exit of the tips is gonna to drone a lot. There should be flanges before the x pipe too so it’s not super huge and heavy. A system set up like this is going to break.

please don’t see any of my constructive criticism as our downs. But the above facts are what separates our system, which is engineered from years and years of experience, versus a lucky guess trying to imitate our system.

Self confidence & fact based conversation is welcomed. it's rare these days. Usually dumbed down by bullshit & weak opinion.

If running long tube headers, it’s very worth it to go 3” instead of 2.5”. Just going up in size is good for .4 seconds 0-80

I noticed a big TQ gain going from 2.5 duals from collector to full 3in duals back from header collector. Butt dyno said Ooooh Yeaaah

It’s crazy. Exactly the opposite of what you’d expect. I figured 3” would be too big for the power output. But tried it for the heck of it. Surprise surprise, huge gains!!
