Is it possible to swap factory stereos (plug and play) in my 2015 Tundra SR? It has the factory base touchscreen. I am wanting to swap it with a higher-end factory unit, possibly one with GPS. Anyone done this, or know if it's possible without a lot of modifications? Thanks in advance!

For sure but you can only go up to the non-JBL,non-externally-amplified units too.

I stuck one from a 2020 I think in mt 2015 SR and had to get a cheap GPS antenna for the stupid clock setting of all odd things and had to install the Sat Antenna too but otherwise it was just plug and play.

Not sure about the apps or GPS as I have no interest in either and didn't get one with GPS and dont care about the apps but the radio display is actually noticeably larger and does sound a lot better too!

I really only listen to Sirius Radio and Books on Audible from my phone but I am happy with the upgrade for sure.

Check the build link in my signature.
Fundamentally, yes. But there are a lot of caveats, some of which are mentioned by the previous poster.

I’d recommend starting with the wiring diagrams for your truck in the EWD thread in my signature. Compare those for the non-external amp navigation system to what is in your truck. And if you are looking at radios from other model years, also pull down those diagrams and carefully compare the actual connector shapes and function of each pin from one diagram to the other because you may find things aren’t the same.

Regarding the 2020-2021 radios, those have unique connectors from any previous model years due to the new head unit that supports CarPlay
