3.5 lift

Just installed RC 3.5 lift. Aligned but it’s still pigeon toed. Was told to get adjustable control arm. Not sure why it can’t be aligned properly with control arm provided. Should I buy the adjustable control arm?

 

What UCA did you use? Did you tighten LCA with truck in the air or on the ground?

 

I used the UCA provided with the kit. I took it to Les Swab for alignment. Leveled on the floor.

 

So again, did you tighten the LCA bolt with the truck elevated?

Well, that is part of your problem. Now loosen them and roll the truck a bit then torque them with the truck on the ground. You have the bushings in a bind right now.

 

Just checked the camber is completely maxed out. Manufacture says it should work.

 

You will risk ruining your LCA bushings if left uncorrected. Do your truck right and correct your mistake, then do alignment.

 

So loosen the LCA roll it back and tighten?

 

I don’t know what pigeon toed means but you definitely don’t have enough caster and need upper control arms. While the LCA bolts do need to be torqued with the truck on the ground that should have been dealt with when it was aligned.

 

Now that I’m looking the tire size recommended is 295/60r20. Would this help out?

 

Nope. Tire size has nothing to do with alignment.

 

No - caster is what keeps the truck driving straight and returns the wheel to center. You’re measurements are 1.4/1.9 and you generally want 3-4 degrees if not more. Lifting reduces the amount of caster available on the stock components and the way get more caster is replacing the upper control arms.

 

What adjustable upper control arm do you recommend?
