Lately my O/D light comes on when I put it in reverse or in drive from park, does this happen to anyone else? Is this an indication of something? Thanks everyone.

Need a video of this happening. Where's your thumb when you grab the gear selector? I now it sounds rudimentary, but we have to eliminate the obvious.

There's a good chance you are experiencing what some of us have. There is a single conductor that goes up inside gear shift stalk. That wires insulation gets wore off under the steering wheel shell.

one previous thread and how to check in case it's the problem....

Having just replaced one, it's an easy job. Looks like you could use electrical tape to patch the insulation if it's just one wore.

I replaced my stalk because the O/D button at the end was worn out, and would not activate when the button was pushed in. The light would flicker, but wouldn't stay on.

Replaced the stalk and all was well. The cared for V6 has no issues like that.
