That would be really cool. We did a walking one in Key West. Turns out it was the wrong tour. The better tour was on a bus and they made a point to laugh and point at us as they drove by. Very hurtful.

 

I literally just laughed out loud…remembering my parents sending me down to the local store to buy beer.

 

My first stop when I need something is the internet. 90%+ of my shopping outside of groceries is online and of that probably 20 - 30% is from US based retailers. I'm on a first name basis with our Amazon delivery lady.

Though I’m not sure if you can order it with your curbside delivery groceries or not…

You can here. But it's Texas. Hell, now you can go to the local bars and grab margaritas to go.

 

I worked at the grocery store and would fill the damaged pepsi “cubes” with beer from broken cases and then tape it back up and sell to my buddies. 18 cans of beer and 6 pepsi or mt dew in the middle at the handle, all for a few bucks.
My coup de gras was walking out with a hand truck full of produce boxes to use for packing to leave for college, only all of the boxes were full of good beer (at least by our standards) - Guinness, Weinharts (OG stuff), Corona, Heinekin, etc. I’m still amazed I pulled that one off without getting busted.

 

We'd do that too. We also distributed Snapple, red bull, rockstar, and some flavored water.

Go to work hungover you'd slam a beer, drink a red bull or rockstar and take a bunch of water with you to rehydrate.

Look up Pendleton underground next time your out this way.

 

I did this too when working at the local gas station in Touchet where I grew up. Then they put up cameras everywhere. So we stopped with the fake packages and just sold the beer. I made them give me ID so it looked like I was carding them. Then I'd meet them after work for beers. Small Town convenience store, but owned by someone from Richland. They didn't know anyone so never caught on.

 

In ID, we couldn’t work the till until we were 19 off the store sold beer, so I never was in a spot I could just sell outright.
But yeah, no cameras when I was in high school

 

I am sure there was some law...but I sold it all the time anyway. Small ass town in middle of nowhere. The store has changed dramatically since I worked there. Used to actually be a small store. Had meat, fruit, dairy, video rental, and deli. Now it's a true convenience store. Locals hardly shop there anymore other than for quick stuff as it's 30 minutes to town. Biggest customers are travelers as it's on the highway. That's all about to change with the new 4 lane highway being put in a mile north of town. It's going to make that town a ghost town. No off ramp either. It doesn't have wineries in it. 5 miles east will have an off ramp because it has wineries, and a population of about 25 people compared to Touchet's 300. But no current gas station. Be interesting to see what comes of everything. Some land came for sale...thinking I should invest and buy it. About ten acres. Could build a house and gas station and retire off of profits.

Yeah, it's already started. They need to connect from Wallula to about 10 miles out of Walla Walla. Look up hwy 12 project.

 

Me and my underage miscreant friends befriended the older guys who were legal to buy alcohol at the time. Never went a weekend without having all the booze we ever needed. We placed an order, threw in an extra 20 Bucks or so, and it was done. Capitalism at its finest form, God Bless America Bitches!

 

Wow. Kind of like 95 north of CDA to Sandpoint. There’s sections of that they made 4-lanes 10 years ago that they are now making even straighter and wider Carriewood/Cocolalla area). Prepping to replace the long bridge at Sandpoint and be 4+ all the way from CDA.

Yup, been a long time coming. Had a section of 4 lane out of Walla Walla for about 10 years now. Waiting on the funding. 2 more sections needed. They've started the first and hopefully have it finished in the spring I think. Who knows when they will start the second and final section.

 

Last time I was through there was ~4 years ago heading to Lewiston for some work at the mill.

Think I'll skip it and invent my own backstory: Hightide was snarky, Azblue drank a couple of kegs worth of beer, Toasty fried everyones eyes with pics of food on the psychedelic table cloth, AzureNightmare got a tattoo of Cobain on his bicep, Outbound is still in Canada, Tom had 14 new drops... nevermind, this could take awhile.
