The only friends I ever had were the ones that I gave paychecks to on Friday. They always laughed at my jokes too

That is called, nugget/flake ice. Very popular in the medical field as well. The machines that make them are usually built like tanks because the force used to create the ice and push it out a auger/corkscrew type evaporator with a cutter head at the top that chops them to length. They work great until they don’t, and then they can be a pain to fix!

That's it! My wife likes "soft ice" so it was an anniversary gift a few years back. Keeps me from having to drive to the damn store every week to buy a 10lb bag of ice.
It's been going strong for about 4 years now. The pump gets stuck every now and then but I figured out if I turn it off for an hour or so and turn it back on, it fixes itself. I have a replacement part for it but I don't want to do it until I absolutely have to. That's time wasted that I could have spent on this thread...

Industrial ice machines freeze the water at a much lower temp, therefore more air and impurities are allowed to be suspended in the ice(more cloudy and not see thru)
Normal restaurant ice machines usually make ice at 31-32 degrees, so it’s much harder for calcium and air to be suspended in the ice, leaving a much more clear cube. Clear cubes mean a clean ice machine/good water quality.
Manitowoc ice machines are the best, hands down.

Can I like the last 4 pages all at once? Great conversation every night, and for an old guy remembering sitting on a couch with buds when life was simple, it's a great escape. Not that chica is someone to escape from - and I'm headed back to the couch to sit around with her too - but it's nice. Hope to see some of you Saturday at Brutal Beerworks, and I'm sure y'all will have said something tonight that I can't contain myself about. That was pretty sappy, so I should add a fv(k you or something... See y'all in the morning.

The Romans actually invented ice cubes because they hated warm wine. Saw that on the History Channel last week.
