The size of the double cab is what brought me into the tundra as well because I could actually fit a car seat there as well. It was so much better then the Silverado double cab. That's a disappointment to see it shrunken down now. Just another downside to this new shared platform which is looking like the other models will make out well with the new platform and the tundra is suffering because of it.

Probably also why Toyota put 33's on the new Tundra when 35+" would look much better. Especially with the black fender flares making the wheel wells look huge.

It's the same platform, but not the same frame isn't it? The frame of the Tundra is much longer than the frame of the Land Cruiser. I think it has more to do with the fact they had to increase the size of the front end for pedestrian safety so they took space out of the cab in order to keep the truck the same size overall.

Kinda disappointed the Tundra doesn't have Auto 4wd.

With a sizeable bump in hp/tq, it's gonna be a handful in wet or mixed weather.

I would have like to see a Auto 4wd option in addition to the 2H, 4H and 4L.

I'm hoping the 22 Sequoia will come with Auto4wd

They can utilize a clutch-based Auto AWD just like Nissan uses, I think Ford and GM also use clutch-based Auto AWD also.
You can select 2H in these systems, so no AWD drag penalty.

I doubt it. The current Sequoia has 2WD along with full-time 4HI and 4LO. It's all in there, Drive mode selector has 2WD, 4WD, 4LO. Link to a 2019 Sequoia SR5 Used 2019 Toyota Sequoia SR5 for sale in Denver, CO 80221: Sport Utility Details - 602368111 - Autotrader

You can see it has 2WD, 4HI, 4LO. 4HI is full-time by default, then it has a CDL lock button that gets you part-time 4WD. There's so much misunderstanding about this.

Sweers could do the same easily on the '22 Tundra, there's no MPG loss. The 10-spd trans doesn't factor in, the Torsen is in the transfer case. LC300 has the same engine and trans with a Torsen transfer case. '22 Tundra buyers got short changed.

Hopefully the new Sequoia has the four drive modes same as now.

Not to derail but $43K for a 2019 SR5 with cloth seats and 60k miles. Wow.

I do wish the Sequoia 4WD system was in the Tundra. It's basically the same vehicle with a built in camper and a third row, but just a little shorter.

Look at the Carfax for that SR5 Sequoia, it was a rental wholesaled out. The '19 I bought back in February was a rental also. $35k OTD with 29k miles.

I was pretty happy buying it still under basic warranty for that price. I think we'll see 2020 and 2021 rental fleet Sequoia SR5 4WD's hit the market soon.

It's an option to look at instead of a '22. You better have a good eye buying used, though.

Lunar Rock on an SR5 Offroad Package? Or maybe the Sport? Looks a tad higher than the Sport models pictured in recent review videos.

Does look taller but I haven't seen any other model have color match fenders except the sport. (I keep hoping it will be an option)

I think that is when the embargo for driving impressions end, not pricing. Could be wrong.

I did the swap on my Gen 2.5 TRD Sport. Wonder if the 2022 will have swapable parts too?

Should be. The front size doesn't change just the grille. So I'd imagine you could take anyone and swap them. Maybe not the pro with the light unless you wired it up

Picture from the back shows how little room there is between the frame rails. Really explains why the battery pack in inside the cab. Guess the choice was either big fuel tank, battery inside or small tank, battery outside. I'd personally choose losing storage space over having a smaller fuel tank.

In the front pic, the cooler that's painted orange is that something to do with the hybrid system?

man.. I was on the fence about the 22 truck, but here's a good illustration of just how small the DC is, and the crewmax is not much bigger. This dude is 6'2" and look how he has to contort himself to get into the rear.
I can live with the lack of a v8, but the cab is so small, it's like having a tacoma access cab. All they need is the door to open the wrong way. To be honest, this looks like it has LESS rear seat room than a tacoma. I could fit in my old 15 model tacoma without my knees touching.
Really REALLY disappointed by how tiny this thing is, it's almost a joke. Look at how narrow the door opening is. No wonder they kept this thing hidden for so long, it's obvious the focus will be on the "bigger" crewmax. Yuck.

I would guess the orange one is the trans cooler and the blue ones are the turbo intercoolers.
Though I thought I read that the trans cooler would be integrated with the main system, but it looks to be it's own in this pic.
