I think you can get a 2021 SR5 TRD Offroad for about 4-6k cheaper than a 2021 Limited TRD Offroad (MSRP wise). Trying to get Toyota's build configurator to work, but its not wanting to play nice this morning. Anyone think a 2022 SR5 TRD Offroad with the 6.5ft bed may come in at 50k?

I think tow mirrors should be included in a tow package, not on a trim lvl

I guess they took some space out of the cab in order to add it to the front lip. Unfortunately there are regulations and compromises that have to be made in order to mass produce a truck.

What would be the engineering decision to put so much room between the grille and the radiator? There has to be at least 6 inches of dead space in there and I can't for the life of me figure out why.

I guess? I don't know all the physics involved but I'm gonna go with anything with this mass moving at +15mph is going to F up any flesh bag unlucky enough to come in contact with it, regardless of how much space is in there

I think it will be around 53k. The configurator on a 21 SR5 TRD OR 4x4 with just a couple add ins ons 50k. So figure another 3k to 4k increase for the 22.

The Tacoma has bumper set ups with the system. I prefer the little profile bumpers with a winch. I get the different bumpers have different applications though.

Man, hoping for a bit cheaper than that. I can build a 2021 for around $47k. However, it is a short bed and just has floor mats for options. Dealers around here usually dont pile on the options, but that was pre-coivd when I was looking at Tacomas and Tundras..

Edit: But with the increase from the all new Tundra your 53k may be spot on without many options ha

I mean, based on what I've seen, I'd be totally fine with a basic SR5; only thing I'd want to add would be better shocks/springs, if they differ between the base SR5 and the TRD Off-Road package and such.

They've definitely shrunken the cab on both the crewmax and DC models. I have a DC and can sit in the back comfortably with lots of leg room (5'10)
in that base sr5 video posted a few posts up, the seat bottom of the rear almost touches the front seatbacks. The cabin is definitely smaller, which is a massive disappointment.
I originally bought the DC just because it was far roomier than a domestic DC. Now the new ones look on par size wise, which absolutely sucks.

Yeah they had to change to squeeze on the land cruiser SUV frame no wonder they been hiding the DC so long

A possibility for sure. It has to come out in the next month or so if deliveries are happening in December.

I think you're misconstruing MSRP vs what we could see dealers charging and what they are charging.

MSRP won't be $75k, but would people pay that for a TRD Pro.......yup.

Found 2 posts in the 22 thread.

    1. 73-75k
    2. 75-80k.

Posts are there but a far cry from "lots"

Although if you ignore post count and focus on active members in this thread it's a lot as it's only a small number of members making a large number or redundant posts....

This is the lowered Sport. The Sport package isn't usually cheap, so it's not really a basic Tundra.

I like the sport. I wish it had the TOYOTA on the grille instead of the logo but they have to make TRD Pro exclusive content.

Toyota has had full-time 4WD for decades. The current Sequoia has it standard on all trims, Land Cruiser has had it for decades. 4th Gen 4Runner V8's are full-time 4WD. 5th Gen Runners have it in the Limited trim.

Millions of miles on the system and I haven't read about any failures directly related to the Torsen Center Differential. Seems to me it should be available in the new Tundra. It's not some super-expensive system, it's contained in the transfer case same as part-time 4WD.

I thought maybe why the '22 doesn't have it is the current system can't handle the extra torque. But, the new LC300 has full-time 4WD with the same TTV6 and a diesel.

I'll ring this up to Mike Sweers and the market surveys he loves. "Our customers don't need Auto 4WD. It's way down on the list."

I think the bigger reason it doesn't have full-time is them chasing every last mpg.
