Was at my local dealership getting regular maintenance service done and decided to walk around. Their new vehicle storage lot which pre Covid would have hundreds of vehicles present has been empty for some time. I was surprised to see a whole row of Tundras available. Upon closer look it was a mix of SR’s, Limiteds, Platinums, and 1794s. However ALL of them were 2WD. Seems like Toyota is trying to dump out their remaining inventories which just happens to be 2WD.

Same thing here - for most of the spring/summer they had squat....then suddenly they had like 15 new Tundras. All very nice, but all 2WD.

I also noticed a row of Tundras at my local dealership when I drove by last week, which is quite different than it had been over the summer, when they had none. Online they are showing that they have 13 currently in stock. 11 of them are 4x4 and 2 are 4x2.

Cant see why anyone would spend their money on a 2wd truck in any situation. Worthless as tits on a boar hog.

I find this funny cause when last year when buying my truck, the sales guy was trying real hard to convince me that plenty of people want the 2WD trucks.

Ill agree to disagree in every scenario concerning 2wd vs 4wd on a truck.

I'm trying to convince my brother to get a 2WD Tacoma, but this is interesting if he can swing it. He wants something that will last 400k miles in Alabama.

Id go for the tundra instead, i've been in tacomas and did not like the interior room. even my petite wife felt claustrophobic in the back seats.

I would go for the tundra over the Tacoma for the power and extra room and towing capabilities

My son just bought a 2021 Platinum for $3k+ off of MSRP. In today's market, that's a great purchase and he never put his Jeep into 4wd in the 5 years he owned it. With the tax differential for trading in his Jeep over selling it outright, he's $5k+ better off than by purchasing locally. We did have to drive from Corpus Christi to Austin TX to get the deal, but the dealer gave us $32k for his Jeep from pictures that I provided. It was nothing more than doing a serious eye exam of the Platinum for scratches or defects and knocking out the paperwork. Easy Peasy....

Some of that craziness should come to Canada, I would be tempted to switch a trx if someone offers me something near that.

Well, your spouse gonna hate me

    https://www.ram-trx.com/threads/up-...ory-wholesale-pricing.4637/page-5#post-102516

If you don't go for package 2, you can get it for 70k in the states, if someone told me pay 10k up front now and get a trx, I'd do it.

In Canada it's a very different story, it's about 140k on avg for a trx, and no one is giving discount, so at that rate I might as well wait for hummer ev or rivian.

I definitely wouldn't buy a 2WD truck anywhere that gets any significant snow. But even if I lived in the south, I don't think I'd ever go that route.
