Hey guys. Just purchased a used (but immaculate) 2012 Tundra TRD Off Road. A couple tasteful mods done, one of which is a Viper remote start. The previous owner stated that right after having the remote start installed, the only door lock that would work with the key fob was the driver side. The fob will not unlock/lock any door other than drivers side, and the unlock/lock buttons on the drivers door do not work for the other 3. Anyone have a similar issue? I haven’t checked fuses yet but I feel like if the fuse was blown the drivers door wouldn’t work either. Appreciate any help.

    Take the Viper out ASAP.

Will leaving it in cause problems or are you saying to fix the locking door issue that’s my best bet?

    Two likely scenarios emerge.

    1. You take out the alarm and things work again.

    2. You take out the alarm and while you're in there, you find the problem in the removal process.

I installed and programmed multiple remote starters before, and the first thing that comes to mind is that Viper unit was programmed to only unlock the driverside (Driver priority) only, and MAYBE will unlock the other doors when you actually press the unlock button on the key fob twice.

The concerning thing you mentioned is that the other doors don't unlock/lock from the switch in the truck itself. That might mean the installer did something weird to the wiring at the switch unit itself.
