10/07 update for any future REF or searches:

First the tech said that cam was fried and needed to be replaced. Told service advisor that supposedly he "sees that a lot in these newer trucks". Right...when I asked how the tech diagnosed a fried camera (and got no answer!), looks like they did a little more digging...

Toyota ultimately blamed the FRAC harness. Supposedly unhooked and reinstalled and everything works now? So if future folks have issues like I did below, maybe you can try unhooking the FRAC harness and reinstalling?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I unhooked my neg battery cable overnight to see if that would solve my HVAC vent issues. It didnt.

But now my backup camera doesnt work either?!! It does not come on when shift into reverse or when I flip my FRAC switch?

I am not aware of the camera having to be "activated" like a lexus or acura? Or does it? Parts guy said it would need techstream to "activate" the camera, but that there was also a manual process. Doesnt sound correct to me?

Is there a cam fuse or something that I might have blown?

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Sounds like you have made some electrical mods. Perhaps the frac is bad or has come unplugged? If other electrical mods were made, I would double check anything you touched. And check your manual for the fuse listings, could be under the hood or inside the cab fuses.

Frac harness installed several years ago, never had any issues. Didn't touch anything else besides the neg batt terminal.

Will look for fuses when I get home
