Says it’s located in the NSW area. Do you have to pay import duties on a used vehicle being sold in your country?

I was assuming “excluding govt charges” meant taxes…

 

If the vehicle was imported then obviously the buyer is going to pay the import duty, exactly how it is added depends on the purchase agreement between buyer and seller. In this case it appears to me that it is added to the sales price during the sale documentation process, only makes sense by the appearance of the label. Many vehicles cost a lot more than we pay when sold overseas in multiple countries even where wages are a small percentage of our wages. It is quite a luxury to have a 15 year old vehicle in many places.

 

It was imported to Australia and converted in 2014. I was thinking surely whoever buys it this time won’t have to pay import duties again…

 

Australia is pretty rational right now. Not doing anything crazy whatsoever.

 

A lot of those Aussie Tundras look to have marker lights on their fenders. Is that a requirement on vehicles over there?

 

Australia (and New Zealand) requires those side marker lights, so there is a whole aftermarket segment for just that because they get a good share of import vehicles that have to be modified.

Truck is listed for $59k now. From what I hear and can tell we seem to have hit the peak craziness and things are slowing down a little.

 

All the crooks need is one sucker.

 

Wow, that's a crazy price. I wouldn't want to pay that but driving a RHD Tundra would be cool.
