Well, I've had this truck for a little over a year now and I'm still waiting to hear back from Toyota corporate on whether or not this crack in my headliner above the windshield can be fixed under warranty...my question is, is it worth it? Has anyone here ever had their headliner replaced by a dealership? And did they do a halfway decent job at it? It's minor, I know, but it annoys the $hit out of me as it's right in my sight picture as I drive, BUT, I can't imagine a hand installed headliner will be as close to perfect as the one from factory? The pic with the arrow is on the driver's side, the normal looking pic is on the passenger side (for comparison). If you stick your finger up behind the protruding spot, you can feel where the headliner is cracked about a half inch straight back.

    Tastefully enhanced...
If you can, get it fixed! If the shoe was on the other foot, you bet there would payment withheld until fixed! The issue you will face is when the part is available to be replaced...luckily, it's not distracting your driving or safety while driving, so you can wait for Toyota to fit you in...I had a similar experience on my 4th gen 4runmer dash...I waited nearly 8 months for the issue to finally be fixed by Toyota, which they did and did a fine job...worth it if you have patience...which is paramount these days!

I know its not ideal, but I'd just stick some double sided tape up there and see of it stays up.
I have body panels on my GX stuck on with 3M double sided tape. Its probably not the right way to fix things, but sometimes the quickest and easiest. May not last forever, but could get you over the hump until Toyota finally fixes it properly.

the rear roll down window makes a headliner replacement on these trucks pretty trivial.. if a dealer couldnt manage to replace it in an acceptable manner... well they shouldnt be in business.

I have that problem as well. 3 years later I had forgotten it was even there.

Fact. My warranty is up in a month or two as well. Maybe I’ll bitch about it when I bitch about the ac blower motor failing and the broken door lock…again.

Yea… Toyota door locks across the board are good for randomly going out. Some cars/trucks will early, others never. Can’t stand I’ve seen tundra blower motors failing

I was going to try something like this, but the overall compression on that area is pretty high...must have just slipped over the material's tolerance and thus, the crack. I figure I'll at least get on the record bitching about it and having it documented so I can revisit later.
