Sale happening and i need an exhaust. Digging thro the forum posts and youtube vids still trying to pick a size. I see many compare the 10 to the trd pro exhaust which ive never heard in person but on video seems to be plenty for me so im sorta leaning towards that size but those with the 8 always tout that one. Has anyone gotten one and wish theyd have gotten the other? One thing im hearing about the 8 is it can be a bit raspy at times is that true? And To those with the 10 even if u dont tow much are u plenty satisfied?

I have the 10 and really like it. Have only had it on for 3 weeks and have already received multiple compliments on how it sounds including the lead service tech from my dealership. He told me he has heard plenty of different exhausts on Tundras and they all sound a little off but mine was 'perfect'. My wife was nervous when I told her I was swapping the exhaust out but she even likes it. Its not obnoxious on startup, super mellow at idle and can get loud if you want. It's how a truck should sound. Had I not considered the wife and children I may have went with the 8 but I am extremely happy with the 10.

I’m happy I went from the trd exhaust tk the 6” system. Still not loud enough to wake up neighbours and comes alive under heavy throttle. I originally ordered the 8” but changed to the 6. Still on the fence about installing the resonator. The drone is very little without it imo.

I have the 10, for quite a while now. I used it first without resonator, then after a few months installed the resonator. It has a nice deep tone, no rasp or harsh sounds ever. It sounds like a really nice, tuned exhaust, which it is. I really considered the 8 but I have had exhausts on other vehicles in the past that I got tired of because they were too loud or had awful drone. I do tow at times as well.

It has been plenty loud for me, been quite happy with it. No mistaking it for stock, probably a bit louder than the TRD exhaust, but no drone. I think of the 10 as an "adult" exhaust. It has the deep, truck has balls sound, sounds refined. Without the resonator, sound is a hair louder but there is drone, for me it was around 1600-1800 rpm. It wasnt awful, especially compared to exhaust I have had on other vehicles, but I found myself having to turn up the radio and on trips it would get annoying.

There are some good vids out there, some here if you search and others on youtube. Also, there is a sound guarantee from @dirtydeeds . If you buy one and are not happy, keith will take it back (you have to pay for shipping) and get you the exhaust you want- louder or quieter.

I have the 10 and been using it for over a year now. Ran it without the resonator for a while and it was ok, had a tone of drone which got annoying. Once I put the resonator on it was much better. Wish I would have done it sooner. I have had multiple compliments on how it sounds and think it’s great.

Those vids should help, but honestly, if you are still up in the air on it just call Keith at dirtydeeds and talk with him. He will help you decide based on your needs/use, he has a ton of experience and as I said before, he had a "sound guarantee" on his exhausts. If you are not happy with the sound, he will exchange it for one you like.

I have the 10 inch installed without the resonator. I started with the budget system but it was way to loud and raspy so I contacted Keith and he was super helpful with the return process. Finally got the 10 inch installed , install was very easy and am super happy with it.

I’ve had my 10” without the resonator on mine coming up on a year. Love the sound and enjoy towing a 30 foot camper with it too. Without the camper I do find myself a little bit more throttle heavy but the wife approves, who happened to own a 69 Camaro with glass packs. She was and still is my bad girl. I do agree with Frank and talk with Keith. He backed me away from the 8” when I told him what I would be towing.

I have had the budget, and now the 10. Both with resonators. The 10 is great, no drone and sounds good when you get on it. But I will say if I were to do it again, I would go with the 8 to get a little more aggressive sound. I am hoping to get LT headers and a racing exhaust with the request to DD to make the setup sound like his 8” system.

I had an 8 for 3 or 4 years and swapped it for a 10.
    Both with the resonator.
8 was a little loud (especially at startup) and raspy when you jumped on it..

Love my 10, it is certainly more family friendly than anything shorter .:D
Next one (next Tundra I get in several years) will probably be a 12...

    No not all all.
But I'm older, if that has anything to do with it..

8 wasn't too loud, no one ever complained.
Just a little louder than I wanted over time.
One can pussyfoot the throttle in the neighborhood coming home.
But that initial brapppp on startup, you can't hide that.

I still remote start my truck every time I'm walking up to it to hear my 10..
And little tap of the pedal under a bridge is still fun...

If you're hauling wife and kids, then 10 would be the way to go..

I have the 8” and I love it. It’s pretty mellow during idle and acceleration, but under hard load it sounds amazing!!! I almost wish I went with the 6” system though.
Go 8” or 6” and you’ll be happy!!!

I've had the 8 inch for over 3 years now I dumped last year right after the rear axle. Absolutely no drone. Sounds great all the time. Get many compliments.

10" without the resonator is plenty loud. You can quiet it down if you'd like, but I like it without the resonator.

I've had my 10 " system with resonator for several years and it's been great but I'm getting old and cranky, so I have a 14" system being installed on Thursday. The past two trips towing on vacation, the 10" started to get annoying pulling the hills. For $ 220.00,( shipping both ways) I have a new system, because of Keith's 'Sound Warranty!'

I have the 8" and no resonator and live in a subdivision. It is only loud on the initial startup. Droning is starting to bother me now so I will be putting on the resonator soon, mainly because I'm old. I don't consider it loud or obnoxious. My family and friends didn't notice the difference until I told them.

    Hello,

Thanks for considering Dirty Deeds Industries for you truck. The 8" is louder than the 10". The 10" is designed for people that tow.

Here are some really good reads that you will be able to choose your prefect system with (check out the PDF)!!

    Thanks, Shawna

I don't tow anything and I much prefer the 10 over the 8 I had before.
But keep in mind I'm almost 60 and days of overly loud exhaust systems are long gone.

I can't even imagine having a budget dump system.
That would be like 1970s glasspacks on a Chevy 454 big block....:eek2:
I'm too old for that sh!t..

The 10 is plenty loud if you are hauling the wife and kids around every weekend.
Go shorter if you're young and single...

    Just MHO...
