If you could keep just one bag in your truck…

Let’s pretend that you could keep just one bag in your truck at all times. What kind of bag would it be and what would be in it?

Think something along the lines of a small tool bag, get home bag, emergency gear bag or a combination thereof. I suppose it could be a small bin or box too.

Let’s say that under seat storage isn’t an option (considering that most CM Tundras now don’t have it and neither will the hybrid-equipped 2022 Tundra).

I keep a bag of Earl Grey tea in my centre console in case of emergencies. You never know when you need a little pep with a tasty beverage.

Keep this in my bed, under my Tonneau cover (Revolver X4). Includes first aid kit, a few camping meals, jumper cables, knife, lights, rope, glasses, leather man, TP, Tylenol, jacket, ratchet tie-downs, fire starters, rain jacket, toothbrush, floss, and much more. This has saved me many times in the last 2 years.

Yeti Loadout Go Box. I keep a combo lock on it, if it’s ever lost or stolen, no one can get into it. Pricey but worth it in the long run.

I have a topper/shell, but I keep a milk crate ratchet strapped to the front of the bed (it pins my shovel and traction boards against a tailgate mat that I place up against the front of the bed) with tow strap, soft shackles, air compressor, down blanket in stuff sack, gloves, hat, and basic first aid kit. I didn’t answer the question though I guess.

Edit. I did notice that when I pulled the rear seat small section for my dog to have more space, that there was quite a bit of storage room behind the 3/4 seat. It’s too bad it isn’t really accessible with the whole seat in there.

Well I only learn things from watching movies so my assumption is that if I need this emergency bag, it means:

1.) The zombie apocalypse is upon us.

2.) There has been a nuclear exchange and civilization as we know it has ended.

Fortunately both of these scenarios have the same basic answers, and will require largely similar gear, so here is my run down:

Container will be the largest hard sided case with wheels I can find. The contents will be as follows:

1.) Highest priority contents will be black leather jacket, pants, boots, and gloves. Covered in shiny metal spikes, with zippers all over for no apparent reason. You can’t be a post apocalyptic war lord without wearing a menacing suit of black leather everything. So got to have room for that.

2.) Blueprints for building a monster truck/marauder vehicle. In the post apocalyptic hell scape no one will drive efficient vehicles to conserve precious resources, those are for victims and soon to be sex slaves! You don’t want to be the new object of affection for a bunch of marauders do you? Hell no, you want to be their leader. You’re going to need that bad ass nitromethane fueled monster marauder truck!

3.) Weapons. Duh… you can’t enslave people in the wastes or kill zombies without them. Along with firearms and ammunition I’ll need to include some melee weapons. Ball bats with barbed wire, and katanas are vastly overrated; so I will pack the ferrule and axe/back spike/spear head of a good old fashioned medieval poleax (look it up it was a terrifyingly effective weapon). Throw in a halberd head as well. No room for the wooden shafts but those can be made. Oh and a bow with arrows.

4.) A very large loincloth. This may seem strange, but I figure it’s more likely to be in a post nuclear war apocalyptic hell scape. That means the radiation might turn me into a giant super mutant. Which is fine I guess as long as I retain cognitive ability. In which case the damn black leather war lord outfit won’t fit, so I need a backup plan for clothing myself to become the best oppressive war lord I can be… human or super mutant!

If I have seriously misinterpreted the question here I apologize.
