Anybody notice dust nibs in factory paint I know it’s normal but man this thing looks like a boulder. Picture doesn’t show how big it really is debating should it be left or try to wet sand and buff it?

I had one in my new army green, and I had the dealer do it, and in my opinion, did a shit job, because they buffed it down to the primer. What I wished I had done, was picked it out, with a scalpal or something, and used touch up paint, and treated it like a nick or chip instead.

Thanks. I’m worried about them burning the edge when buffing it because it’s so close to it I’m honestly thinking just live with it

Wouldn’t trust the dealer but any good body shop can make short work of that. Be sure to tell them you just want it as flat as possible without an risk of burning through.

A run razor or nib files might work for you. Or, a small piece of 1800 or 2000 grit wet paper on a pencil eraser, followed by a good buffing.

Disclaimer, only attempt the run razor or the nib files on very hard, fully cured paint.

I actually work in a body shop but I know a lot of shops in ma the detailers are usually kids straight from high school so I don’t know if I want them getting into my truck with less then 200 miles on it. I know nothing about the whole buffing department never wanted to learn lol now I wish I did. I just talked to our painter he’s been doing it for a long time so he’s going to look at it tomorrow and let me know what he thinks I’ve seen him work miracles so I’ll keep my fingers crossed and post some more pics if he is tempted to try it.

I’m very pleased with my paint on my 21 LunaRock Pro. Especially after buffing it and giving it a full detail. It’s much nicer than my AG paint that was on my 4runner Pro.
